E'Tahn Swarm

By Alabast, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Ran this list yesterday against a newish player with much success.

E'tahn + FCS + Swarm tactics + Adv. Proton Torpedos + Muni Failsafe

Roark + Autoblaster turret

3x Bandits.

I did well but it's seems REALLY dicey to get within range one to use Adv. Torps, even when he can get Lock + focus thanks to FCS.

Think I'd be better served dropping the ordinance (and MF) and upgrading one of the Bandits to Craken + Calc?

maybe it's better to

E'tahn + FCS + Swarm Tactics + R2-D2

Roark + Ion Cannon

3x Bandits

?

you got some control, regen on your crit-giving-dude and 2 of your Bandits or E'tahn+Bandit shoots at PS 12

etahn plus 4 prototypes is a thing

Swarm tactics really does you no good with PS5

if want Z's...why not go with etahn+r2d2+FCS+predator, 4Xtala and give one some ordinance.

this way your talas fire before other lists' filler

Swarm Tactics is actually working at PS12 thanks to Roark.

I currently only own 3 A-wings and 3 (rebel) Zs, so I'd like to make the list work with them. I like Kom's idea of using an Ion turret to add range and control. Although, Roark amusingly landed a range 3 crit with his one die primary weapon against a stressed Firespray with no tokens. (It was a console fire) :)

roark is fragile and when he dies the list breaks down

The idea is that while they are shooting at Roark the rest of the swarm is inflicting serious damage and turning the enemy forces into something more manageable. And when Roark dies, it's still a fine gaggle of jousters, with only superior Arc-dodgers like Whisper causing a problem. I think E'tahn dying is the real concern (hence R2-d2).
