Some very interesting ideas

would like to see the stats for the characters to see if some of the stuff is a tad bit "broken"

Here is one that I started about a year ago and never finished

Konrad von Richthofen

Son of Manfred von Richthofen (red baron)

former pilot and sky raider for the Reich forces. An accident which resulted in losing is left eye had forced him to leave the luftwaffe.

Combat - 5/5/4/4

Stamina - 6/5/4/3

intelligence - 4/3/2/2

speed - 7/6/4/4

abilities - hand to hand / mechanic / weapons

special token

Raider!

Konrad's experience as a sky raider has allowed him to effectively attack unexpected victims.

When Konrad attacks a unit that has not been activated this turn, he rolls 1 additional die.

combat

dual lugers - the dual lugers allows the holder to rerole 2 dice during combat.

grenade - you know what is does

trench knife - hand to hand

enrage - give a +1 per die to a hand to hand combat. This ability stacks with raider.

ignore this bonus if the target has a strength ability.

Stanima

dual lugers - above

Med pack - you know what it does

take aim - role one additional die with a ranged attack when making an attack against a unit that has moved.

4th item N/A

mental

Dual Lugers

Blue max - get 2 bonus points

Close Combat Veteran - if your team loses the intitative by 1 or 2 you may move Konrad prior to your oponent.

4th items N/A

I like the pilot but I kind of want him to have a magic eye that lets him fire through walls. Too bad that would be game breaking.

Is the ammo bag a one time use? considering it gives ordinary attacks splash damage and KOs non-living units that might be important. But then the voivs can only take 1 hit and HOUND Dog is on your team so I guess you just made a Ramierez with a much better shoting bonus. Might be unbalanced there.

Vojska Snega (or snow troops)

combat - 5/5/4

stamina - 5/4/4

mental - 4/4/3

speed - 7/6/6

special equipment -

glory of the Matriarchy!

once per game after you have been attacked and survived you may move up to 3 spaces and attack with a ranged weapon, hand to hand, or grenade. After the attack reduce this troop's life by one.

Does not require you to move all 3 spaces but atleast 1 space, you MUST move towards the target and NOT away.

PPSH-41

Allows you to attack using your highest combat value when you make a counter attack no matter what you current life status is.

grenade - you know

Entrenching Tool- roll one addition die when making a hand to hand attack.

Stanima

Nagant M1895 - adds one die to your attack

Med pack-

Obedient- As long as their is a character with a command ability on the same path as a snow troop you may add an additional die to your shock roll.

Bonus token!!!

Winter camouflage when playing on a map that contains snow (IE Novgorod) you may always use your highest stamina value for shock rolls.

Here are some more concepts, just opening it up for brainstorming.

A Corrupted Valkyrie that is enticed to the Reich’s with the promise of a never-ending battle. She would have a special item that can raise a dead character once per turn.

I thought of this while thinking about an amphibious map and scenario. A water sprite, a Nix, that could combat the Union underwater. She would lure enemy into traps.

A British or French Soldier turn revenant, that is seeking revenge on the Reich for the brutal death he suffered at the hands of the Reich.

Thanks for the consideration,
Dolo

A few concepts that jump to my mind..

A group of Druidic mystics fighting against the Reich - this is a variation of a series of stories about white mages who were trying to undo the Reich's power in WWII. You could have a British Lord with a special set of mental powers to take on the Reich. Throw in a 1940s Druidic Priestess meets uniformed aviator.

Also, where are the Knights of the Temple? I mean surely we could use a few of the "old guard" to come to the aid of civilization against the demonic tide of the Reich.

While we are on this topic, where is the much needed Librarian/Archeaologist?

As to the Reich - where is the ghost summoner? What about some additional mage like officers?

Back on the old FFG Tannhauser forum someone started doing a Knights Templar faction using Snow Trooper figures from the Stars Wars Miniatures game as well as a Warrior Nun and a priest type character who was portrayed with an Red Imperial Guard. If anyone wants I can check on my old computer to see if I've still got the images for the character cards on the hard drive.

I don't think they got as far as working out the different equipment packs and the like.

I would like a copy of it.

yea me too, im sure me and dolo could work something out eh ;)

Ive just got Tannhauser yesterday for my birthday.....and im allready cooking up some character ideas....

My first idea is to base a team on the danish restistance under WW2, and give em something from the Nordic mythology.

Im playing with the idea of a skill called "Suicide Blitz" its basically if the character has only 1 wound left he can make a suicide attempt to take somebody with him to the grave!

Of items from the Nordic mythology i had 2 ideas first is "Thor´s hammer: Mjølner" and the second one is "Odin´s spear: Gugner" but coming up with some reasonble stats for these...i need to play the game some more!!

ill will post as soon as i get some more together on this danish team of mine!!

In the hope the Golden Globe Social club does make an appearance at some stage? I would like to see one of it's members resemble or even be Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. The character to could be represented by two minis. One in the normal state with quite mediocre combat stats. The second representing the beast Mr Hyde (like out of Van Helsing). This beast could have super melee stats. Maybe you could roll 1d6 to see on announcement of transformation to determine how many rounds it will last. On the expring round you could then maybe roll another 1D6 to see how long it will take before the ability could be used again. Or maybe just a set amount of doses per game.

The other character I would like to see is a British soldier. He could be Union or a Mercenary although I am leaning to the Merc more recently. Could call him Tommy Atkins if a Union character or maybe Edward Teach if a Merc :) Maybe he could be a master of booby traps or tactical demoiltions, could blow one hole in a wall during the game and came with a blown wall token and possibly some stealth/backstab abilty? Give him a beret, Tommy gun, sykes fairbairn commando dagger and a VC which boosted some ability.

Though I would love to see a Golden Globe faction, with the IP change, I can't see it happening.

Also, Dr. Jeckyll would be out of place, as it's the 1950's in the Tannhauser timeline.

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is great, but in the 1950's Alan Moore has them interacting with Kerouac and Burroughs characters.

It would be very nice to see Union characters that aren't solely American, it is the Union, after all...

@ Dolomit23 and darknight

Well I found the images. I can't remember who the original author was and from the cards it wasn't a Templar faction but a Vatican based faction.

Here are the images :

th_cardnial-1.jpg th_cardtemp-1.jpg th_nun.jpg

If anyone can remember who the original author was I would like to give them credit for their creation.

My only involvement was bringing up the subject of a Warrior Nun based on the comic character Warrior Nun Areala which is where the nun image on the card came from.

well that wasn't a complete sucess (first time using photobucket so I'm a bit confused on what I'm meant to be doing) here's the links for the full size images I hope (just copy and paste the following into your address bar as I've had enough now of trying to create a direct link 5 edits is my limit before i get completely hacked off)

Those were mine. I did complete a non-starwars version, but had a major data loss, and may no longer have the data, but since there is intrest, I'll see what I can dig up.

Found it!

It is still a beta so all comments welcome, it's "open source" so modify as you like just remember to give me a little credit.

Please note some of the text stills says cardinal, although the character is now called "Vicar of Arms Reinhart."

The Inquisition, now StarWars Free, and 100% less Inquistiony

I'd like to get restarted on the art work (did it before but all is lost), I need some good line art of the D&D Mintures.

Vicar of Arms Reinhart:

(D&D Unhollowed Vampire Hunter, uncommon)

Born in Belgium and raised in a Catholic orphanage he seemed almost destined to join the church. He was ordained by the Jesuits, at the young age of 18, and by the time he was 25 he was already a powerful warrior for the church. He is a respected and feared leader. Respected for his skill and leadership; feared for his lack of temperance, and overzealous wrath. Vicar Reinhart is a bit of an anachronism; in a time of giant war machines, and advanced technology he refuses to use much of it preferring his crossbow to a gun, and ancient ritual to the gadgets of the Weapons Priory.

Equipment.

Special Item:

Combat Axe:
This heavy steel combat axe is an extremely devastating hand to hand weapon, and a favorite of Reinhart; as he likes to be close to those he culls from the flock.

Hand to hand weapon. The power of the axe provides a 3 point bonus to each die.

Combat Pack:

Cruciform Bow:
Close Combat Weapon +1 to the result of each Combat Roll die (except Natural 1s).

MKII A1:
Grenade

First Aid Kit:
May heal an additional wound when using a Victory Point to heal a wound.
Discard after use.

Stamina Pack:

Saint Michal Medallion:
Thanks to his heroic aura the Cardinal awards 2 supplementary Bonus Points to your unit, which can be used just like Victory Points.

Bonus Points are not exactly like standard Victory Points. If they are not used during play, they are lost at the end of the game and subsequently not counted for victory conditions.

First Aid Kit:
May heal an additional wound when using a Victory Point to heal a wound.
Discard after use.

Immunity to Pain:
The blessing of the Pope is powerful symbol, and when it is given to an Inquisitor the mental fortification it provides creates an Inquisitor who is incredibly resistant to pain.

Whenever this character makes a Shock Roll, he uses his highest Stamina Value.

Mental Pack:

Rank of Vicar of Arms:
+5 to Deployment Roll. Also 2 bonus points to use as Victory Points.

Let’s Go Follow Me:
A tactical move ordered by the squad leader, this classical flanking maneuver is mainly used by commandos making surprise attacks. Being both a soldier and a man of God this tactic is a favorite of Cardinal Reinhart.

When all Sequences of the first Game Turn are over, friendly characters located on the same Path as the Cardinal can immediately move an extra circle.

Cruciform Bow:
Close Combat Weapon +1 to the result of each Combat Roll die (except Natural 1s).

Spiritual Pack:

Splinter of the True Cross:
This small piece of wood to the untrained eye looks like trash, but is a relic from the Crucifixion of Christ, and as such it possesses incredible spiritual power.

If attacked by a tainted enemy ( i.e. Stosstruppen, Karl, and maybe Zorka, also Zombies, vampires, etc.) the enemy must use his lowest combat value.

Saintly Relic:
Blocks mental attacks when the Cardinal rolls a natural 10, this also allows him to block mental attack that normally may prevent a shock roll.

Roman Ritual:
Once per game the Cardinal may attempt to “exorcise” the Stosstruppen, He engages the Stosstruppen in a mental duel. If successful the Stosstruppen Is striped of all supernatural abilities (i.e. Demon Taint, Not Dead Yet, etc.)

Sister Anne:

(D&D Blood War Shadowdancer, uncommon)

Raised by the nuns of the Auxiliary Weapons Priory, Anne is a true soldier of the church. Trained in the use of virtually every weapon used today, she is an absolute force of nature. Though she was raised in the church, she has many questions of faith, and it is these questions that have led her current position. Anne is the yang to Reinhart’s yin, loving all things modern. She happily embraces every new weapon of God the monks at the SGWP churn out. Even her knifes are of the most advanced metallic alloys available.

Equipment:

Special Item:

Trench Gun:
Close Combat Weapon If at least 1 success rolled on the Combat Roll die and target is within a number of spaces equal to attacker’s lowest CV, may move target to an adjacent (not closer) free circle. If no space available, target suffers 1 Automatic Wound.

Combat Pack:

Cruciform Knife:
Hand-to-Hand Weapon If user rolls at least 1 success on a Combat Roll, add 1 additional success to the result.

Cruciform Knife:
Hand-to-Hand Weapon If user rolls at least 1 success on a Combat Roll, add 1 additional success to the result. Cumulative with the first Knife.

MKII A1:
Grenade

Stamina Pack:

Flash-gun MK1:
A prototype constructed using elements from several standard Union weapons, coupled to a battery powered propulsion unit that kicks in during fire, the Flash-gun shoots high-velocity rounds capable of piercing the strongest armor.

Automatic Weapon Target is killed instantly if firer rolls at least 1 Natural 10 on a Combat Roll (not re-rolls) and target does not roll at least 1 Natural 10 on the Shock Roll.

MKII A1:
Grenade

Saint Christopher’s Medal:
Saint Christopher is the patron saint of travel.

+1 to current movement value.

Mental Pack:

Reising M50:
Automatic Weapon +1 to Current Combat Value.

Saint Christopher’s Medal:
Saint Christopher is the patron saint of travel.

+1 to current movement value.

Irregular Equipment Appropriation:
This is military slang for theft of unsecured items.

Before the game starts, but after all other allied characters equipment packs have been selected, Sister Anne can choose one piece of allied equipment from among the remaining Tokens. The selected equipment is placed over the Irregular Equipment Appropriation token on the Character Sheet (i.e., they both occupy the same slot), and is used as normal equipment.

Bonus, Tech Pack:

Vatican Augmented Grenade:
This is a standard Mark 1 Grenade that the Friars of the Swiss Guard Weapons Priory have augmented with a silver nitride filled secondary casing.

Type: Grenade. The *** works as a standard grenade against mortal targets, but against those who have touched the U-worlds, it will kill instantly on a natural 10.

The Lathe of Heaven:
This object fell to earth near a Missionary Monastery is west Africa in the year 1350. After a long journey it arrived at the Holy See; where it was locked away until information from Union experiments was leaked to the Vatican. Soon the Friars of the Swiss Guard Weapons Priory discovered that when it was connected to a powerful enough power source it could be used as a directed energy weapon.

Directed Energy Weapon (Automatic Weapon) When used to attack an enemy the charge from the Lathe may jump to an adjacent character. Make a normal combat roll against the primary target, then a low row value combat and shock rolls for each adjacent enemy or ally.

Mateba Auto-Revolver w/ Vatican Augmented Ammunition:
Mateba Auto-Revolver:
Close Combat Weapon +1 to the result of each Combat Roll die (except Natural 1s).

Vatican Augmented Ammunition:
The Friars of the Swiss Guard Weapons Priory have created a pre-fragmented bronze bullet, filled with silver nitride, and capped with a resin plug. This has resulted is a highly frangible, incendiary ammunition. However, it is also very expensive, and is issued sparingly.

The Vatican Augmented Ammunition can only be used once per game. The Vatican Augmented Ammunition token does not take up a slot on the character sheet, and is considered part of the Mateba Auto-Revolver equipment. (If the Mateba Auto-Revolver is dropped before the special ammo is fired, a character who picks up the Mateba also receives the ammo token, as well.)

Announce the use of the Vatican Augmented Ammunition before making a combat roll. The target mortal or otherwise receives as many wound as successes.
Discard the Vatican Augmented Ammunition token after use.

Troops are still to come, I got a lot of anti-starwars flak, so I haven't yet created new troops.

i like this, looks good, when i saw the nun, i immeidiatly thought of my infinity models, a reverend moira from the nomad faction, she would be excellent for that, im glad youre gonna re start it, i want the rest :)

Is the Ottoman Empire or the alternate history equivalent in with the Reich? I was thinking about a Middle eastern Home defense group that is trying to keep the invaders from disturbing their homeland. I dont know where they would get their power from, butit would a thought?

Here tis might help, it's from the lost frence site. It's not the latest map. If anyone has all these a posted zip file somewhere would be great.

As you can see; Turkey is neutral, but because of their masive weapon factories, the Reich and Union fought over the western area. The Reich won. (all this was part of a french JPC tournament)

jpcmap.jpg

I saved most o the JPC maps.

I did an inventory of the campaigns, and I'm sorry to say think I'm missing a couple of maps.

I'll have a look around and see what I have and post them.

Here is the new Vicar Reinhart character card, don't be to critical I had to draw the character by hand looking at a tiny little person for a model.

Tokens will follow, with the next blog update.

The link below will take you to the full size image. Thanks for the intrest, comments welcome.
