Tie advanced title... Really

This is clearly a goblin, not a troll. Don't kids today read the classics like Gary's Monster Manual?

Yeah, I agree. But I was at work, and that was the first one that popped up. Besides, he has a funky hat. I like hats.

Pocket rockets are retarded on an A

Sithborg pointed out 4 different cases where A-Wings used prockets and made it to the final 8. So no they're not a bad idea on an A-Wing, not if you make good use of them. Also people have made great use of the A as a blocker.

It doesn't sounds like Ribann's voice to me, and it's lacking his MO.

I dunno VS. Reading this thread is a bit like he's playing hangman and every post earns him another letter, right now he's at RIB...

Fyi retarded means good. 5 dice is brutal no matter what throws it

I can assure you in England it does not, calling something or someone retarded is very insulting over here to the point it gets censured from songs on tv and radio despite not being a swear word.

Completely believable... British censorship is well documented, and properly eye-rolled at here in the U.S...

Your name "Hobojebus" is a seriously offensive term to a lot of people... Please refrain from posting under that name as it is not that big of a deal if it takes into consideration the sensitivities of others...

Ah well now your going against your own constitution and trying to violate my right to free speech.

You have the right to be offended you don't have the right to use that as an excuse to silence others.

Note I never said he couldn't say retarded I just pointed out it is considered offensive by my nation.

Sorry I channelled Matt dillahunty for a moment there.

Can we just say this is a retarded argument and leave it at that~?

I love lamp!!!

Awing, gives up a slot that is never used to reduce its cost by 2 points.

TIE Advance, gets a free sensor upgrade unless it is the ATC which cost 1 point.

I love lamp!!!

Krynn, do you really love the lamp, or are you just saying it because you saw it?

Is no one going to comment on how his name sounds like cyanide??

Thanks, but I think you should practice your fly-tying a bit more before you make disingenuous posts like this one here.

I read somewhere that their periods attract bears.

It remains to seen how powerful they will end up now. I do have to say I'm not a big fan of letting them get AC. It's a upgrade clearly made for 3 dice attack ships, as often they will get 2+ hits anyways, but it helps for the few times when they don't.

I think the original idea many had of just giving them a free FCS would have been better. Either that or just do the ATC upgrade as just a 1 point title for the advanced.

This thread gives me a headache...

The TIE advanced sorely needed an update, especially after rebel aces. I mean fluff wise the TIE advanced was supposed to be this awesome prototype ship, so awesome Darth Vader had it as his personal starfighter.

Now we have the TIE X/1 upgrade and ATC to give the Advance a nasty little extra damage, and with the new TIE upgrade cards, the TIE advance can finally take on an A-wing toe to toe as it should have always been.

The main thing is it makes them flexible.

A good 'fix' isn't just "we made this too expensive, have a discount" - like the chaardan refit, because cards which are an automatic choice reduce the options and diversity in the game. A-wing Test Pilot, by comparison, gives the A-wing the unique option of multiple elite pilot talents - which give all sorts of interactions that are completely unique to that ship, from the j-turning A-wing (Tycho with Daredevil and Push The Limit) to the Re-usable Proton Rocket (Expose/Opportunist).

Not all of them are game-winners, but opening up options in the form of upgrade slots will keep getting better and more flexible as the game develops.

The TIE interceptor's Royal Guard TIE is the same - albeit currently a bit fixated on Autothrusters.

Consider the TIE/x1 title to be a Chaardan Refit and an A-Wing Test Pilot bundled into the same card and they're about the same in real terms - an extra upgrade slot and a discount. The difference is that the discount is slightly less because the discount is on the price of the ship, not the upgrade, so you can always not take the upgrade and take the A-wing as a swarmy little ship (consider it a 3 point upgrade to give an extra green die and boost to a Z-95)

I guess the real disadvantage to FFG's spoiler/release cycle is that it ends up with complaining before the ships are even on shelves~

Get real... Asking someone to change their speech or thoughts because it tickles your feelies is a big deal... No one can cater to everyone sensitivities... The context of the word was not even in the realm of it being used as a slur... If that offends you, that sucks, but personally I think that's a little retarded...

It's a pretty loaded term to throw around with respect to something as trivial as a game with plastic spaceships, and speaking personally, I would really rather people not use it.

Guys, someone would rather someone else not do something on the Internet... Quick, everyone change...

... It's a seriously offensive term to a lot of people. Asking people not to use a slur like that is not a big deal.

So too do the X-Men: https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/bd/dd/7f/bddd7f1e6591340de6c88ea23bb75dba.jpg

But to the thread topic, if you're jealous of TIE Advanced fighter, imperial recruitment offices are open 6 days a week.

Except Sundays, when we ditribute free cookies. Yeah it is a "thing".

Go Empire, boo Rebelion

My group has a player that loves x-wings and prefers to take them over any other ship. We came up two ideas to help boost them: A x-wing only unique title "Red Leader" that allows all other x-wings to operate at the pilot skill of the title holder. A x-wing only modification "Adjustable S-Foils" that allows a player to choose at the beginning of the activation phase to keep them open (standard attack position) or close the s-foils.

When the s-foils are open nothing happens but when they are closed the x-wing increases agility by one and gains the barrel roll action albeit at the expense of one attack dice that turn.

The main thing is it makes them flexible.

Yeah, the Advanced's problem was that it didn't have enough offensive punch for its cost, so it got a new discounted upgrade to address that. Thinking about it, the X-Wing's problem is that it's too vulnerable for its cost (which is why Tarn and Luke are among its most popular pilots). If they could pull off something along the lines of a reverse ATC for the X-Wing that'd be pretty exciting. It doesn't need nearly as much help as the Advanced, mind.

You could be onto something there!

ɹoʇɔǝɹɹoɔ ʎɔɐɹnɔɔɐ

X-Wing Only

When defending you may cancel all your defense dice, and then, immediately, add two (evade) results to your roll.

Your roll cannot be modified again.

or

ɹǝʇndɯoɔ ƃuıʇʇǝƃɹɐʇ pǝɔuɐʌpɐ

X-Wing only

When defending, if you have a Focus token and you don't spend it, you may add an (evade) result to your roll.

Would this be too broken?

I'd like to point out that this guys earlier posts were 'new guy' questions on the rules forum, this is legit, let's turn down the flamethrowers just a little and focus on explaining why he is in error, not the fact that he is in error.

So the raider isn't even out yet and the QQ has begun, excellent your tears power our tie advanced.

You took the words right out of my mouth.....er perhaps that would be the keys right off my keyboard...
