How many A wings have you seen without rockets since refit in tournament play?

About as many as we saw before the refit. It was very rare to actually see a A-Wing with missiles so the 'cost' of the refit is actually nothing. You gave up a slot you rarely were going to use in the first place.

And if you are gonna complain that advanced don't get used I know someone who still uses vader in the advanced because they like him.

Good for them, but that doesn't mean the Tie Advanced was fine. If anything it proves how bad it was, that it took a points free, stress free PtL to make anyone use it. Even then, it was very, very rare to see the TA in a tournament.

That doesn't make sense... Jake with a Procket is 27 points, that's a 108 point list... Plus is 4 Jakes in the same list even legal?

I mean he's awesome and it can quite often seem like he's in two places at once, but 4 (or would that be 8?) is a bit much...

But I could see how you'd win with that list. That much awesome would be hard to beat.

I'm pretty sure 2x Green + Predator, 4x Prototype, all with refit, won a couple of store championships. And Dash with 3x Prototypes won a regional. Jake with the refit has made top 4 at more than a half-dozen regionals, plus a win in Wisconsin. So yes, Refit A's are competitive in several different forms, and they're being used.

When talking about the A-Wing "fix" you can't ignore the A-Wing Test Pilot title. The refit by itself was enough to make Prototypes cheap enough to toss one or two into a list as cheap blockers but the ability to take a second EPT was huge for the named pilots.

The EPT you still pay for instead of a free up to 4 point sensor and after that just costing -4.... Yes test pilot is okay so you can bump jake and arvel to Vi or predator and push. Gemmer only gets one which is odd since even the greens get 2

A-Wings had some really fun setups to play in casual gaming too. Advanced were kinda bland. Vader was the only good option and he wasn't tough to beat. Advanced will have a role in the list now. It won't play anything like the A-Wing. I don't think you can compare them.

I was trying to more compare the "fixes" to each ship not the ships themselves. Where the average missile cost is 4 granted only a one use type thing but those proton rockets on an A can hurt bad. Now the missiles on any A wing got increased in cost by 2 since you now have to sacrifice refit to put one on. The advance sacrifices nothing for its new "fix" and even can get that fancy new tie only engine making all banks green.

Get real... Asking someone to change their speech or thoughts because it tickles your feelies is a big deal... No one can cater to everyone sensitivities... The context of the word was not even in the realm of it being used as a slur... If that offends you, that sucks, but personally I think that's a little retarded...

The TIE Advanced was paying 4 points over an A-Wing for a worse dial and an extra health.

The A-Wing was determined to be 2 points overcosted, receiving the Chardaan Refit and Proton Rockets to address the issue.

The TIE Advanced was therefore paying 6 points for a bad dial and an extra health. The TIE mk II modification fixes the dial, the Title fills the rest of the value, and the Advanced Targeting Computer adds value to the Aces in a way that isn't spammable by generics, and makes Marek Steele worth playing.
