A wings were not terrible before. They just weren't very good. Advanced is just awful, with the exception of Vader in certain meta's and lists.

Clearly you have never played against a good A-wing pilot. Those little guys are SICK now. The Advanced needed this fix, and it's a good one. Unlike the A-wing, the Advanced generally isn't an arc dodger (though Vader with EU and Juno can be!). It's total lack of offense or any defensive tricks kept the poor Advanced sitting on the sideline.

Until we get these fixes, play with your A-wings more. I think you'll feel differently afterwards.

A-Wings see play, even without the Refit. Advanced just... don't. Really not sure what your point is, here.

The changes to the Advanced doesn't make them into super-ships (well, except maybe Vader). It makes them good, but not game-breaking.

Their dial still isn't great and even with Accuracy Corrector they will still have problems against high agi ships. They'll be great against low-agi ships though.

And ATC is good, but not great (except with Vader). Mostly because your damage output & defense plummets whenever you have to switch targets.

All the changes just made it into a ship worth taking, not something that outclasses every other ship.

Even with Vader, you're still paying for what you get, so it's still balanced.

A-Wings had some really fun setups to play in casual gaming too. Advanced were kinda bland. Vader was the only good option and he wasn't tough to beat. Advanced will have a role in the list now. It won't play anything like the A-Wing. I don't think you can compare them.

The Advanced fix (long over due) has me excited about what FFG might do with ships like the Defender, E-wing, and X-wing in the future. This was a well thought out, thematic fix.

I saw a few X-Wing heavy squads at the regional I went to. There was a 100-0 match at a table next to me with a 3 X-Wing Squad taking out. Corran and Dash. I didn't run around and count but there may have been more X-Wings than TIE fighters on the tables.

Next up, yeah the advanced was really bad - priced like an X-wing, but there is serious dissonance between green and red die, the x-wing (which needs an upgrade) was the better ship.

The X-1 title is a neat little fix that gives advanced options, making the TIE Advanced, not the TIE Skoda.

I was trying to more compare the "fixes" to each ship not the ships themselves. Where the average missile cost is 4 granted only a one use type thing but those proton rockets on an A can hurt bad. Now the missiles on any A wing got increased in cost by 2 since you now have to sacrifice refit to put one on. The advance sacrifices nothing for its new "fix" and even can get that fancy new tie only engine making all banks green.

Awings were nowhere near as bad off as the advanced and actually saw competitive play right before the z hit. Some named aces still Pop up now and again and they are still crazy good blockers. The EPT you still pay for instead of a free up to 4 point sensor and after that just costing -4.... Yes test pilot is okay so you can bump jake and arvel to Vi or predator and push. Gemmer only gets one which is odd since even the greens get 2

And if you are gonna complain that advanced don't get used I know someone who still uses vader in the advanced because they like him.
