So that ship in the artwork is not the Kihraxz, it's a Vaksai...intentional nod to what's to come or did someone just randomly pick some "scum" art work and post it up there?

There is only one starfighter sized-ship that have appeared in X-Wing artwork (either articles or cards) that hasn't gone on to appear in the game to the best of my knowledge, and that would be the Yevethan D-Type from Etahn A'baht's card art.

Sure, there have been Star Destroyers and Death Stars featured on various pieces of art, but they were never going to see the light of day in X-Wing.

Not saying this proves anything of course, just making a point.

Actually the Vaksai is basically a heavy Kihrahxz I think it was a mandelmotors design. (Edit: it was TransGalMeg)

In SWG the Vaksai is a special version of the kihrahxz based on the type one hull with 150k mass max rather than the kihrahxz pathetic 44ishk. They were phenomenally fast, fairly agile and typically mounted mark X guns (albeit only a single).

Personal notes: Vaksai depending on their outfitting were either average to absolutely monsterous, the speed and agility allowed the larger ship to compete with the Rebel A-wing, and it's increased mass meant it's shield could take a hit or two from the A, only needing 1 good solid hit to down said A.

Missiles could hurt it (when fired twin, rookie pilots tended to forget countermeasures in their builds). Ironically I had more success hunting these in my Y-wing and Firespray than my A.(for the above reasons).

The Vaks, along with the oppressor, A-wing and RGI were probably the most common big bads in space PVP that were not shoehorned episode 3 ships, the RGI being a 90K tie interceptor (with a hitbox bug at first, I refused to fly mine till that was fixed). The oppressors 3 warhead array made it a special threat also.

The Vaksai is a Blacksun variant of the Kihraxz, it is heavily modified and apparently quite different from the base Kihraxz. Sounds like it could definitely be a contender for a wave 8 ship, I bet they bring in the Rihkxyrk as well because again it is another version of the Kihraxz...heavily modified. How is it any different from what the empire does with TiEs. They start looking the same but are modified with different systems, components, and engines.

unless it's going to be scum's actual interceptor, sort of like the Tie Interceptor to the special-K's Tie Fighter, given the status of the Scyk

I think it was in some show in the 80's A team I think the one with the alien that eats cats and lives with the Henderson family.

Thank you! The death star turned up in core set and SDs here and there plus there's the other ships in etahn's card, just bc it's there doesn't mean it's coming

The fact that FFG somewhat unexpectedly decided to open up a third faction is not evidence that nothing should be ruled out, ever.
