Anyone have the Core book yet?

By RogueCorona, in Star Wars: Force and Destiny RPG

Just got mine delivered! WOOHOO!

First Thumbthrough everything looks great. Just we have come to expect from FFG durable and highquality book, beautifully illustrated artwork, handy sidebars, and a lot of info I wasnt expecting. I was delighted to see Korriban, Ilum, and Ossus in the planets section, very cool.

Well later folks, I got a heap big amount of reading to do :D

Do they call it Korriban, or do they follow Clone Wars and call it Moraband? I still have no clue why they decided to change that.

From what I remember someone saying in another topic it's both. He's what he said

FFG definitely works with the Story Group and gets approval to use certain things (FFG had stated as much) , but I think LFL is a little more loose with canonicty with FFGs products. There's a sidebar I the CRB that discusses canon vs. Legends, and what to use while running your campaign. Also the Moraband entry in the CRB has Korriban in parentheses which basically comports with new canon. While there has been no "official" announcement on Korriban, multiple people on the Story Group have implied that Korriban was the former name of Moraband, but that is by no means official.

For official canon I highly recommend picking up Ultimate Star Wars from DK Publishing, it's the first all canon encyclopedia of the Star Wars universe and is basically the Bible for all future writers of Star Wars material.

So it's still Korriban as well as Moraband. Just different eras different names I guess.

http://www.bookdepository.com/ has it in stock. Just ordered it from them, plus free shipping :D Great if you live in Australia :) Now have to wait 2 weeks :(

Great. Now we'll have to put up with in-universe hipsters b*tching about how they liked the planet before they changed the name, how it used to be cool before it "sold out", etc...

Picking up mine at Meeplemart this evening... :D

Update: Got it and the GM screen.

Edited by FuriousGreg

Came out in the UK today, with the GM kit.

I got mine on Monday.

Update in California (pre-ordered from MM with slow free shipping). Original estimate said Next Monday, update on tracking the other day said this Saturday, update today says estimated delivery is today...even if it doesn't make it here by today, it is still a pleasant surprise to be getting it this week vs next week....still I'm studying for a certification and simultaneously working on a rule book layout for a miniatures game we recently kickstarted (that's all on top of my 9 to 5 day job), so I'm actually not going to be able to spend as much time reading Star Wars RPG stuff as I would like

Update: My package from MM did come in yesterday afternoon. FedEx Smart Post ends up delivering to the local U.S.Post Office in the wee hours of the morning, and then packages get dropped in the normal mail run. Just briefly paged through and I have to say, it's hard to believe anything can complete with the art in the already published FFG books, but it is actually getting better! Some really amazing pieces in the CRB and Desperate Allies. As an overall composition and theme (in my humble opinion) the FaD GM screen is the least exciting of the three. Maybe I'm just partial to the Bobba Fett/Falcon piece form Edge, and the Vader/Luke/Storm Trooper/Death Star piece on the AoR one. I wont have time to really delve into the contents for a while, but overall first impression: 'Nailed it!'

Just got my book in Seattle from MM yesterday. It was nice to spend some time reading it last night.

Got mine last night from MM. I'm in California.

Now I really want to start a Jedi campaign, but the whole group (including me) is still really enjoying our current Old Republic Game. To much choice is bad for my psyche. I need more time. One session a week isn't enough.

I'm kinda excited, I usually GM but I'm going to get to play the F&D Beginner adventure, good thing I was too busy to read it when I picked it up a few weeks ago.

Got mine from MM in CT today!

Okay, so... While I'm waiting for my FFGSWRPGFnDCRB to arrive... Can someone who has it answer a question for me please?

What's the Encumbrance value of a Silhouette 0 Jedi Master in a backpack?

Had mine since early last week, both core and GM kits, ordered via amazon from a game shop and fantasy flight respectively.

What's the Encumbrance value of a Silhouette 0 Jedi Master in a backpack?

Same as a Silhouette 2 Jedi Master - size matters not.

I am getting my book this Tuesday. I can't wait!

What's the Encumbrance value of a Silhouette 0 Jedi Master in a backpack?

It depends. Did he eat many pies before climbing in?

And technically you'd be wearing him, so whatever number you get is halved...so Bonus!

Great. Now I can look forward to my players trying to tie each other back to back and combine parry actions.

Hmmmm. If Chewbacca carries Luke on his back and Luke is carrying Yoda, the Encumerance of Yoda is now quartered and Luke's is halved. If Chewbacca rides a Taun-Taun, this exploit is really starting to get somewhere... :)

And that was a knaserII's TARDIS moment XD

We should call this one "Zeno's Encumbrance".

It's so good!

Man, I didn't want to hype it up, but I really enjoy what they've done with Jedi.
