Any idea what the 3 new races will be?
I'd be surprised if there were any. IIRC, so far we've only seen new species in the Specialisation books.

Lords of Nal Hutta and Suns of Fortune both had new species, actually.

Typical - just about the only two non-spec books I haven't got! ![]()

...aside from the Adventures, they're the ONLY two non-spec books...

Wow. Some of you must have invested in the Foresee power.

All is proceeding according to plan, then...

Aren't the Quarren already in another book?

Not quite true: both the other sector books (Lords of Nal Hutta and Suns of Fortune) have species. Even an adventure module is getting a new species.

Hasn't stopped them from repeating before (Duros and Gran).

Yeah I know I just hate when it happens. There are sooooooooooo many more they could go with ![]()

I'm actually not that upset. They only repeat in other lines, in which case we get different fluff material for the species, and they do it when it makes sense. After all, this is a book that has Mon Cala in it; what better time to introduce the Quarren to Age players?
Don't forget that each line is a separate game.

In theory, this is what FFG said, but in practice, we all know it is the same game with 3 book colors.

If by colors you mean different character options, mechanics, and settings, then sure.
I love Star Wars and Roleplaying games. I'm going to collect all of these books. There are probably people on the forums who feel the same way. But it's expensive. And I'm sure there are people who are only buying one line, or the just the stuff that sounds best to them out of each line. So I'm okay with them reprinting a few things every now and again.
Wait a minute... I thought Chandrila was going to be included in Strongholds of Resistance... am I wrong?

If they maintained a pdf list on their site that showed which species were were they wouldn't need to reprint for different lines. After all anyone who is willing to buy a book just to get stats on a species would be willing to buy said book even if it wasn't for AoR.

The original article mentions Chandrila. If Strongholds of Resistance is anything like Suns of Fortune or Lords of Nal Hutta (which all signs point to yes) then there'll be dozens of worlds covered in the book. Some with less information, maybe just a few paragraphs, but a few to exhaustive detail.
I'm really looking forward to more info on Dac!
I'm really looking forward to more info on Dac!
Dac was by far the most difficult planet of my section to address. There has just been so much lore surrounding the planet between WEG, Legends novels, video games, DHC comics, WOTC RPG books, non-game sourcebooks, and both Clone Wars cartoon series, it was a real challenge to try and find ways to synthesize all of that information, plus add some of my own original content to the planet. I'm proud of the result, but I can't wait until you guys get a chance to look things over and see how I did.
Thanks for your hard work! I love how the sourcebooks consolidate data spread out among so many sources into a relatively concise, easily digested format.
Edited by verdantsfNew preview. Neat. Advice for advancing beyond ESB. Old CIS base. Can't wait to see the new stuff.
I'm feeling pretty good about a release next week...
Hmm I wonder if the abandoned CIS base means we will finally get stats for some of the CIS ships the rebels use?
I know what the artist on the Defiant Core cave used for inspiration.

Pretty cool. It is called Cueva del Fantasma (Cave of the Ghost) and it is located in Venezuela.
EDIT
Yes, those are helicopters parked at the bottom of the picture.

I can't imagine how hard that must have been. Even the name of the world is all over the place!
Yeah the history of Dac is a twisted mess. Early EU sources claim the world's first contact with galactic civilization was during the Empire though that had to be changed to an Imperial lie as part of a revisionist history campaign after some Mon Calamari appeared in the PT and in pre-PT Legends material.

I seem to remember that the Mon Cal were portrayed as fighting for the CIS in the Clone Wars comic.
