Strongholds of Resistance is on the boat

By kaosoe, in Star Wars: Age of Rebellion RPG

The sector books for EotE have been my favorite books so far. I can't wait to see how these compare.

Yay I can see a lot of potential fun stuff in this. Perhaps we'll finally see some 1st GCW era Bothan designed ships.

Yay, maybe I'll have it in time for Christmas...

[/bitterness]

But seriously, I'm excited to see this one, especially since I just kicked off my AoR campaign last week.

I'm guessing they'll compare favorably. I'm wicked excited.

So what are we hoping for equipment and vehicle wise in this?

Personally I'm hoping for some more sil 5, 6, and 7 ships. Especially sil 7 because while most of my favorite Star Wars ship designs are Sil 5 or Sil 6 I feel the rebels really need an AOR Sil 7 class that isn't utterly outdated. The only current AOR Sil 7 design the rebels would have easy access to is the Dreadnaught. Even if you throw EOE Sil 7s into the mix that only adds the Neutron Star. We need some assault frigates or similarly sized vessels IMO.

Home One and other Mon Calamari Shipyards stuff, maybe. Maybe we'll get the Assault Frigate.

Lots of talk about old Clone Wars era equipment. so I'm hoping for lots of juicy crunch regarding the Clone Wars era.

I can see that. Maybe the Pelta-class. In a book about Rebel bases and supporters, I find it hard to believe they won't cover the Home One in some way, though.

I'm hoping we get some Sullustan ships as well as more Mon Cal ships since the article specifically mentions Sullust. I would love to see the Cutlass-9 fighter and the Liberator class and Dauntless class cruisers in AOR.

I'm hoping to see some of the old Separatist ships and maybe even some of the Bothan cruisers, but I don't think that this will be the book for them.

It will be interesting to see what Bothan ship design of this era is like since the EU/Legends never detailed any Bothan designs except the post 1st GCW Assault Cruisers. What makes you think they wouldn't appear in this book though?

Edit: Also I wonder if any Alderaanian warship or fighter designs will appear in this book?

These are my favorite types of sourcebooks to write for, and Strongholds of Resistance was no exception. Had so much fun working on this, and I can't wait for you guys to get your hands on it to pick it apart!

And the Six-Week (plus 1) countdown begins anew!

Six or seven weeks until it comes out?

I'm betting they sell copies at Gen Con. Maybe someone will post some spoilers then.

They might have a copy on display at GenCon, but I think it'll mostly be about selling Force and Destiny and its GM kit.

And we've still go two weeks to go before it's off the boat. Le Sigh.

I just ordered it over Chronicles of the Gatekeeper (even though I am running a Force and Destiny Game) but the PC's will be utilizing the Alliance from time to time and I like setting books as a whole. Plus, the Verpine are one of my all time favorite species. I hope they have a good write up for them :)

We'll know it's close when they put out another article or two for it.

I seriously can't wait for this one to come out. There was a LOT of hard work from me and Ryan Brooks on the various locations. And I know Sterling and Jason Marker worked their butts off too. Really excited for you guys to get your hands on it and let me know what you think! Hopefully not too much longer, now! They just posted another Chronicles of teh Gatekeeper article, so I'm hoping we get another strongholds article soon, too!

Hope for lots of new fighters and ships to play with including some FFG created ones.

This is one that I'm anxiously waiting for, and it says good things if one of the writers is this excited about it.

Now I really can't wait.

Rather than more one-to-two-man snubs, I'd like to see a few light attack ships that could hold the average party in one hull, like the Skipray (already in Edge), or perhaps even something so far unseen (like the Sentinel).

That would be cool. Most of the fighters on my top 10 favorite fighters list are already in the FFG system but there are a few still missing. I definitely want plenty of capships though. I don't think it is possible for them to have too many Sil 5 and Sil 6 craft while I still feel the system is badly in need of some more Sil 7 ships that make sense IMO in Alliance hands.
