Assault Frigate less than whole :(

By maxam, in Star Wars: Armada

So I got an Assault Frigate today, only to discover it didn't have the "undercarriage" (the nobbly bit underneath that looks like it belongs to the Nebula).

I've dutifully filled out a form (and uploaded a picture) on the FFG customer support site, but I was just wondering ... is this common? Has anyone else had this issue?

I can understand a missing card or plastic lug, but for this whole piece to be missing just seems crazy...

Mine are were good and I have a fleet of AF's, FFG CS people will have you sorted toot sweet.

how did you not see it missing? you can see the whole ship from the packaging.

In the store I did not notice - I was in a hurry and was more concerned with checking the paint job on the top... when I got home I noticed it and thought (somewhat naïvely that it must be a separate part that has to be attached.

In fact, when the "part" was not in the box I still assumed that I was missing a part that has to be attached - it was only checking it via unboxing videos on YouTube that showed me it should have been attached.

*sigh*

All 3 of mine were in great condition. . . Till I got a hold of them. . .

And we call his AF's Inetrantional Search and Rescue. :D

F.A.B Lyraeus.

Lol thanks

I had the bottom keel thing come off one of my Assault Frigates after I opened it, the other one is just fine. It is clearly a separate piece, however, so if it wasn't glued on properly, easy to see how it could get lost.

Right now I am debating putting the keel back on my second one or not (just putting a plasticard panel over the hole) so that I have two AF's that look different in shape. The ship is a lot less... "fat" without the keel.

There is one Assault Frigate sitting on the shelf at my LGS with smudged red paint in a pretty obvious place on one of the sides. For the price they are selling those ships they better have those things in order. Besides, the Assault Frigate cannot afford the extra uglyness!

Flip their tails! They look great afterwards

Do you still want your extra model when you get your replacement? I'm looking for models for painting.

I think they used some bad glue because my friend's VSD was missing the plastic connector that is attached underneath the model.

I say glue because I had pieces fall off my models and it seems possible that a piece falling off could cause it to be left out of the package. My AFII had it's tail fall off, my VSD had both it's antenna fall off, and the other one had the connector fall off too, but I managed to fix all of it with a dab of plastic cement.

Maybe there is a video for you to do, how to remove your tail. :D

The same thing happened to my VSD, but fortunately it stuck to the stand so I didn´t lose it. Definitely some bad glue jobs on the VSDs.

That wouldn't be so bad had it actually made it into the box - I guess it dropped out on the factory floor.

FWIW I'm pretty particular about opening my boxes (too much time with LEGO!) - don't want to risk anything getting lost...

anyone have any models they dont want anymore? a trade? =)

!!!!!!

Yea you can shimmy it right off. I have done it will all 3 of my Assault Frigates and then you shave the bottom portion of the nub holding it on and voila you can flip it so the fins are facing up

I'm sure they'll just send the missing part - otherwise we'll talk :)

I've heard tale of them sending a while VSD to replace one of the antennae.

I assume they were telling the truth, because they didn't really gain anything by lying (it was a poster here.) Not sure that your situation will be the same, but I wouldn't rule it out.

I have an X Wing CR90 and the central engine block isn't attached.

It's just an interference fit, CSRs suggested that I just re-glue it, so there are certainly fixative issues at the assembly stage.
