I just moved to Palmer and am looking for friends to practice with .

I stopped by Area 51 and MJ's in Wasilla today and wasn't particularly encouraged - Area 51 seems to have some guys that play on Sundays but no "real tournaments" according to the gal at the counter. I guess MJ's used to be under different ownership and their X-Wing community kind of died when the store changed hands. At least they had some tables set up for Warhammer that looked big enough for an official 3x3 playmat, whereas Area 51 just had some of those folding tables that aren't quite wide enough to keep your playmat from hanging off the edges.

In any case, once I'm moved in I plan to build my own table as I'm kind of a terrain modeling nerd (I have some sweet asteroid models with clear acrylic bases that are the same shape as the official asteroid tokens). I've got a pretty solid collection - about 30 ships from all 3 factions - but not nearly enough actual game experience. So hit me up if you'd like to have some friendly games, and especially if you're interested in trying to grow the community in the Valley! It'd be great to get one of the local stores to support actual tournaments with shwag from FFG...
