Has there been any functioning online platform to play the Ed1 with people you don't know and that is relatively up to date with new releases? And if so is that expected to continue with Ed2?
Online play?
There's OCTGN. I'm sure a 2nd edition module is only a matter of time and seeing all the cards.
We're working on it right now, as a matter of fact. We expect to finish the module during or soon after GenCon.
OK, so there's usually no delay between released cards and the online play? I know the system I used to play during CCG, can't remember what it was called, was always one expansion behind.
OCTGN is maintained by fans, and not endorsed in any way by the games' publishers. So the only delay involved is how fast we can add the new cards after they can be found in shops (it helps that the cards are usually fully spoiled on the official site by that time).
will you be adding any automated features for agot 2nd ed or are the game mechanics too complex for that? I tried octgn once for 1st edition and didn't play that much as I found out about 2nd edition coming out so I decided to wait but the stuff I tested seemed to rely on chat communication a lot, my friend told me that netrunner octgn version plays pretty much like hearthstone:-)
Cool, I'll have to check that out then. Now I just need some people to play against. I'm guessing Melnick isn't around anymore if anyone here even known who that is. Well, I know some do at least.
Thrones (alternating actions) is more complex than Netrunner (click-based actions) so don't expect much automation beyond shortcuts that do things like mulligan, shuffle the deck, etc.
Thrones is not a more complex game than Netrunner! But there is a perfect opportunity to automate card effects:
--Shift Click target, double-click Margaery Tyrell: target character gets +3 STR.
--Shift Click target, double-click Die By The Sword. Target goes to dead pile.
--Euron Grejoy wins an unopposed challenge. Double click him. Dialogue box opens: 1) Pillage 1 card. 2) Take Control of an eligible target in the opponents discard pile. Activate #1, repeat #2.

What? Netrunner? Yes. Has been for some years.
If you mean the Android board game, not on OCTGN. Maybe Vassel...
Or is he asking for a Mobile version of OCTGN which is compatible with Android OS?
Sorry my bad, I meant an app compatible with the Android OS, not the availability of A:NR in OCTGN
Edited by hanotsriOffical OCTGN app for android. This app currently only supports viewing a list of running games.
has anyone ever encountered an octgn.exe assert failure? some mscorlib resource lookup (whatever that is:-))
it kinda bums me out as this error appears everytime I run octgn for the second time after installation so in order to play I have to install again, and add games and build decks again :-(
would appreciate any pointers on how to fix it
If You Already Have OCTGN and the Thrones Feed from 1 st Edition, Skip to Step 3
1. Download octgn , create an account, and login
2. Subscribe to the Game of Thrones LCG feed by going to the “Games Manager” tab and click “Add Game Feed”. Next to “Name” put something like “Game of Thrones LCG” and next to “Feed Url/Path” put the following without spaces: http:// www. myget. org/F/octgngamedirectory . Then click “Add”.
3. Now in the drop down bar, select the Game of Thrones feed. To install 2 nd Edition from the feed, scroll to it and click “Install”.
4. Now you need to download the card images (which are censored for 6 months after release).
5. After they download, click “Add Image Packs”, navigate to where you saved the .08c image file on your computer, and select it. After the pack installs, close and restart OCTGN.
5. Go to the “Deck Editor” on otcgn, build a deck, and save it to your computer.
6. Now you’re ready to Host a game or Join a game. Click on the “Play or Spectate” Tab in OCTGN
7. When the game opens, load your deck, move you Faction card and Agenda to the play area, shuffle your deck, and draw 7 cards. Right click on things like your hand or deck to see the available options along with shortcut keys when applicable.
Ohh, so they're running 2.0 just as another expansion to 1.0?
Is there any deck-checking logic to validate that your deck doesn't contain both 1.0 and 2.0 cards?
Will 1.0 be rotated out of OCTGN after Worlds?
I installed it yesterday and 2nd ed is separate from 1st ed.

They share the same feed, but are separate games within the feed.
