Regionals help

Sorry, i added a list and didn't know if it saved so i made a new topic. So I'm heading to regionals but currently torn between 3 lists trying to figure out which to run, please help with advice and feedback.

Please leave any comments or feedback on the pros and cons and which list you'd prefer.

Firstly: Formatting is your friend.
It's easier to comment if you don't have to work to read the wall-of-text, savvy? A little tabulature and a little spacing goes a long way.

As to the content of your post...

Your lists appear to have 2 main issues:


Autoblaster. Just.... no.

It's the worst cannon in the game for a reason, and that reason is two-fold.

  • Reason the 1st is that it's not always a guarantee that you want to use it when you have the opportunity, as your primary weapon rolls more attack dice at that range (and is free!).
  • Reason the 2nd is that it's extremely difficult to guarantee a Range 1 shot against any ship that you'd actually want its effect on; ships with high damage mitigation tend to also have a high amount of mobility, and can simply arc-dodge you.

Lack of Engine Upgrades (or Expert Handling)

You definitely want EU or Ex Hand. Boost and/or Barrel-Roll on a high PS ship are invaluable. Of the two, EU doesn't cost stress, and lets you keep your Veterans' Instincts, so I'd go with that.

  • Boost with a Firespray's Aux. Arc allows aim fixing unparalleled by any ship without a turret. If you can get them to chase you (as Kath really wants them to do), EU gives you fine-tuning of your firing arc, without worry of passing them and losing damage.
  • Boost on a high PS pilot is also going to net you more attacks against those pesky arc-dodgers, and allow you to react to the aggression of opponents' other ships, thereby allowing you to dodge the occasional arc.
  • Boost on a large ship carries you a surprising distance, so your opponents will have to keep in mind a large swath of land to be able to outfly you. Any time you can add stress to your opponent (not their ships, but the player) with your upgrades means that the upgrade in question is worth the points, and can net you a victory from a loss on its own!

Since those are issues that all 3 lists of yours have, I'm gonna recommend that you try a 4th option :)
