If you are Gen Con POST PICTURES

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

I will update my thread with cards if they end up showing them, I'm sure others will do the same as well!

I had a brief chat with Steve Horvath, senior Vice President of Communication for FFG and he said they had hoped to have wave 2 at Gen Con but it didn't happen. He also stated to keep an eye on the website for announcements in the coming month, so at least we get some breadcrumbs.

I know this is the armada forum, but are they selling the expansion (twin shadows) for imperial assault at the convention?

Nice. Now we have a better perspective on model sizes. Home One looks small compared to the ISD.

Nice work those picture are great.

Thanks! The ISD looks enormous next to the Victory, without quite seeming too unwieldy for the game. I can't wait to see it on my table, I think they've nailed the size perfectly. Lore-wise I don't remember what the Home One should look like relative to the Star Destroyers, but I feel like they did a good job there as well. Big enough to feel like a real battlecruiser, but small enough that the ISD is still the most intimidating ship around. The shrimp and raider look neat as well.... I hope we don't really have to wait til Q4 for these guys.

Home one is on par for size vs the ISD.

It's just a different design so not as FAT!

That pic makes things look a lot better. Soooooo looking forward to wave 2!

X-Wing got a lot of awesome goodies though.

Must...have...more...info....this wait is killing me!

That ISD looks amazing.

The ISD is massive ! And the naysayers can't say it's due to perspective only :P

Super excited, Let's be optimistic and say we will see ships in oct at LGS.

The ISD is so big.... and its armour plates are so tiny. So very very tiny. And I'm going to have to paint every single one. Spray, wash, paint, wash, paint, paint paint.... and I shall call it the ISD Dragon, because this is going to be as tedious as painting scales. And I already bought two. I have so many mixed feelings about this.

... Elation is still the most prominant.

Must....have...ISD......naaaaaoooooowwwwwwwww..........

There are similar pics floating around (including my own!). It was nice of them to put them together like that as they were not like that initially.

So, what's the speculation on the points cost of that baby ? I would likely say 100-120 for the base version, perhaps even more. The front arc of this bad boy is really mean in terms of dice !

I think Home 1 will present a more interesting painting challenge :D

nice green shirt!

There is a very-very real chance that I'm going to try to paint my first Home One like the 'Pretension'.

That's from....1986 and it still looks uncannily like a mon-cal that ran out of gasoline and had to call in a steampunk AAA service. When was Return of the Jedi? 1982, right?

It's either that or whitish grey or bluish grey, maybe with a red nose, just like everything else... right? I haven't a clue what else to do, yet.Gah, I suck at thinking up new colour schemes. But Needless to say, the MC80 is looking like a real challenge.

I think that could work ! I look forward to seeing it.

I hope people appreciated my Instagram pics. I didn't do much out side of Star Wars events. Unfortunately nothing new was revealed for Armada at all.

I certainly did, mate. Top notch job and many-many thanks. It gave us a real good perspective on things, even if there was no new information, that perspective is still worth a ton :)

I actually think it will be 127+. If the default fleet size is going to be 400 points, I think FFG will price this so you can't get 3 into a list (including your Fleet Commander.) So, assuming they give a 20 point tolerance for future Fleet Commanders, 380/3, rounding up, would be a minimum price of 127 points in order to prevent having 3.

I wouldn't go above 100 for the base version

the amount of fire it spits (at least according to the old "here they come" preview) is not terribly more impressive than the VSD

it's packing an additional 2 shields (front and back), 3 hull, and 1 squadron.

the mon cal I'd even expect to be in the 90s

It's also got 5 defense tokens, (and 4 different ones at that; that's a lot of damage mitigation against 1 heavy attack).

I can't see it's Engineering token, but I'm guessing it's 5.

There's also something to be said for the physical size of it's base, and how much more reach in firepower that gives the model.

Does that add up to 55 points more than a Vic-1? I'm not sure. Time will tell :-)

Yes - Armada didn't get any love at Gencon at all, did it. We learned nothing new - it's all a bit deflating, adding in the somewhat dull fleet list (no squadron, spam list) that won the Nationals and, well I don't know! Surely they could have tossed us some kind of bone, you'd think ? Frustrating. Let down.
