If you are Gen Con POST PICTURES

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

The "Spoiled" idea is in the details... Yes, we know what the 5 releases are, but people want Details of the Contents of those 5...

Not just "Has xx number of upgrade cards", they want to know what the cards DO. Which aren't usually visible in the card spreads, or in the case of the Raider, aren't even shown.

Ah, gotcha. I thought maybe there was some reason that wasn't being called Wave 2, or something.

For those wondering, here are some things about the FFG set up at GenCon:

They have display cases up, many times showing things that have not been released. They often add to the display each day. For example (a make believe example, don't say I said this WILL happen) on Thursday they will have the ships and plastic bases. Friday they will add the cardboard base part. Saturday they will throw in cards, strategically covered. Again, just an example of what could happen, not what will.

They have a huge store set up in their booth with lots of everything. They still sell out of things. Often times they have some things there that will not hit retail for a month or two.

On Friday (IIRC) they do a 90 minute "In Flight" report. It goes over all of their products. Last year they announced X-Wing wave VI (scum and villainy) there. They usually don't get into spoilery details, just slides with images. They will most definitely mention the new wave of Armada there, but do not expect card details.

If anyone wants to see my pics of GenCon as the weekend is going on, you can check out my Instagram @rowdyoctopus. That is my Twitter handle too if Twitter is more your thing, which does post my Instagram pictures when I post.

...maybe I'd ask them for a job? :)

Woot woot Gen Con is coming so soon, So much excitement .

I'm told it looks like they will be selling wave 2, but have limited stock. Hoping my friend scores 1 of everything for me.

Wow, 5 pages and GenCon hasn't started yet.

Are we a tad excited people?

(I know I am.)

Well Beatty, we did start this what. . . Last week?

All current ships out are there it looks like

But with an empty shelf above for "new product" ... historically (at least for X-Wing) that's where they've put the new stuff when it is announced (usually just after the In Flight report).

There is an empty shelf above all three X-Wing mini shelves...

Dealers only access today, I'm pretty sure. I'll be stopping by FFG booth first thing in the AM.

I had to stare at that for ages to work out that the thing on the left is the VSD. I thought it looked like some sort of saucer with a pointy bit coming out.

Lots of empty shelves = lots of new and exciting product announcements.

Everyone just calm down... Aw who am I kidding?! Send more Bothans!

Also of note, there is no empty shelf with the Armada stuff, so I don't expect anyvWave 3 sightings, at least not physical models. I wouldn't rule out digital images at their panel.

There is an empty X-Wing shelf, and Wave VII is on display already.

CALLED IT! Wave II not for sale. It's like they don't want me to practice for Worlds... (Who cares about nationals? :P)

the want level is to d*** high!
