Ion Scarlet

Haven't played this yet, but looks like fun. Any idea to refine it before I give it a try? Scarlet is going to go ahead and get some attention. The two Y will keep their noses pointed towards her to punish those who go after her... with recon specialist, engine upgrade and PTL the girl should manage to stay alive long enough to get the game going my way.

Please adjust your text to "Default" rather than "Black".
Some of us don't have a white background, for which Default compensates, but for which Black is problematic.

Anywho, onto your actual content.

Scum Kath doesn't necessarily need the Ion Cannon, as that upgrade tends to keep ships in front of her, and she prefers them to be behind her.

As you're currently at 99 points, trading it in allows something incredible for you: Bombs!

You can stay at 99 and give Kath a Proximity Mine
You can go to 100 and give the Y-Wings each a Seismic Charge (My recommendation)

Both severely restrict your opponent's playstyle simply by existing, even if don't drop the bombs, as they will prefer not to get behind your current position to avoid that damage... which risks netting more damage from your actual guns.

With ships as poorly mobile as a BTL-A4 Y-Wing (which is pretty bad even with the Unhinged, to be honest), that can save your bacon, and also make it so that you can get them in your sights more often, meaning a greater chance of ionization than if Kath had had an Ion Cannon as well!

Actually ion can work great on scum Kath depending on positioning. If you are flying straight at each other and you have the space you can do a 2 or 3 hard turn and hit them hard with the rear arc.

I had great fun flying a similar list the other night.

Got far more use out of the engine upgrade than the recon spec, I don't recall ever using both focus tokens. Target locks on the Y Wings were used often. Mangler Cannon didn't really help a heap, as I spent more time overshooting the target to trigger Kath's butt cannon.

Free target lock from K4 on green and keep moving with the engine upgrade. Flechette cannon and inertial dampeners were thrown in. With the mention of bombs now thinking there's better value in giving Kath a proxy mine or seismic charges to the Y Wings.


I am running something pretty similar... But with Boba instead of Kath, mostly for the pilot skill, not the ability. I too have found Engine Upgrade gets used often, and thus have opted for Gunner instead of Recon Specialist. When boosting won't get me out of arc, I'll go with the evade action. And either way Gunner's passive ability is great. I have considered the K4, but the lack of green on the dial is worrying. I have found that I often use the 2 and 3 turns to get into position or out of arc. I also tend to maneuver in the middle of the board, so perhaps a different flying style could make better use of the K4.

I've been thinking about flying Boba again as I had great luck with him previously, but I don't have a copy of Lone Wolf. That saved me on so many dice rolls coupled with Boba's pilot ability.

I tended to fly Kath through the engagement for butt cannon then use the green easy 1 turn with a boost to come around for another pass. Boba is different as you want to keep him up close and personal. I guess the question is, will you get more use of Gunner or Lone Wolf and another crew member?
