My friend wanted to have his 666 (+Z for the Pup) painted as a sort of a ghostship. It worked out quite nicely, I tried to use more airbrush that I normally do. So here you have, der Fliegende Trandonshaner:

Edit: Hopefully pics are now visible.
That is awesome. The painting is very eye catching, almost eerie which I think you were going for. I also love the damage. I've always wanted a damaged Imperial Shuttle. So double win here.
Your ships look great!
If the blue U-Boat is bugging you, repaint it

Thanks Red 7. If only I had enough time for the U-Boat. MN Regional is this weekend and I don't think Ill get another full repaint in before then.
I dirtied up my Zs, painted my Y wing and finally settled on a scheme for my Jumpmaster
All the people painting DiscoMasters, I'm still waiting for someone to paint it as an actuall U-boot, two-three tones of gray with some rust and wash plus a flotilla emblem and/or U-something designation.
I'd do that, but I don't have any JumpMasters.
Nor painting equipment.
Nor skill :<
Wampa!
Nice! Very nice looking damages and dirt on it!
Thanks!

Is that the reflection of a PLANET on the cockpit glass?!?

Is that the reflection of a PLANET on the cockpit glass?!?
Pretty sure it is! This is at least on par with that Boba repaint that had the explosion from the card art reflecting on the cockpit. Actually it is even crazier given what a tiny bit of space and how much detail there is!
oh gods. that IS a planet.
Which Boba is this?

From a while back, I can't remember who did that. But is was really well done!
Thanks everyone! It is indeed a planet. Was looking for something a little different this time around. I was so worried it wouldn't turn out lol.
I'm going to have to try that effect on a cockpit sometime. It's gorgeous.
I've not had much practice at SENMM though, let alone on something as small as a TIE cockpit. I can barely highlight mine, let alone paint art on them.
Nice, I'll have to do some OSL on that section of my P1 myself.
Thanks.
The stripes on the wings were done by free hand.
I can share my technique and you are more than welcome to try it.
- First I paint the lines in blue, getting them as smooth and straight as possible.
Thinned paints is as always a vital component with this step, its always better to do several passes rather than one thick one.
If I am lucky, they turn out ok and I can move on.
- If the lines are not evenly spaced, or are too thick/thin, I will go back with the base colour and the blue paint and even out the spacing and thickness of them until I am happy.
- I basically keep repeating these steps until I am happy with them.
I would say #1 tip is keep the paint thin
Lately I have found that rubbing alcohol removes paint very accurately. Layer by layer at times!!!
I have dipped a fine detail brush into the rubbing alcohol and used it as an "eraser" to clean up edges, and to lessen weathering where I have gotten too carried away

Give these tips a try, and let me/us know how you get on.
Worked out a'ight! Thanks!
Here's a tie shuttle I did for someone using a Lambda color scheme.
And here's a Poe I did for the same person. It's my second Poe, so I bit the bullet and created a mask for the wing pips instead of brushing them on.
love the starry bases!
Bases were pretty easy.. painted black then airbrushed some blue, purple adjacent to each other... looks pretty dark to begin with, but once you add the stars, it really brings the colour up !
And the stars... very very technical method, using abstract mathematical equation to make them seem random... or in layman terms, I took a toothbrush, put a bit of white paint on it and flicked it at the bases.. pulling my thumb against the bristles so it sprayed the base

Do you cry inside every time you put your pilot cardboard thingy over those bases?
Nah, you can still see the space effect on the edges, so it still looks good... the only problem is I have to use a marker to make all the card edges black now.. so they blend it !
