The Concise/Collected Repaints Thread. Keep Them All Here, Keep Em Visible.
Somewhere on the web is a guy that use to make the masters for 1/285 scale armor. For GHQ, I think. He also did some SWs in our scale. It could be him. And no, before you ask, I don't have the web address. I ran across the site while hunting eBay. That would be the best place to start looking. Custom repaints and modifications.
His name is Walter Vail. You can see more of his works at ImageReplicas
Some of his ships can be seen on ebay too.
Hope it helps!
Edited by NachofanteThe T-70 conversion is INSANE!
Amazing job.
And I LOVE those Star Vipers!
There really is A LOT of talent in this community
Love this Lambda also, glorious!

Couldn't agree more!! Really inspirational
Here's the thing with Walter Veil's hyper detailed ships, they are exquisitely converted, heck I'm an experienced scratch builder and I don't know if I could do what he does.
That said, I just don't like his painting. The ships only have a few basic colours, little in the way of shading, no highlights and the splashes of colours found on the ships are generally water slides. Basically, it just doesn't do it for me, though I would love to get my hands on one of his ships and paint it properly.
Edited by MacrossVF1Nice stuff. Dang you, i wasn't planning to paint any Zeds to go with my planned Kath repaint, but seeing yours.... How can I not? sigh... adding 2 more Z-95s to my buy list.

Thanks, Nacho! Thought I bookmarked the site for the future but didn. You saved me a bunch of time.
I really like the Zeds you provided as an escort for Kath. Ads a nice touch of class.
LOL!
Just try to remember that this is your hobby, and it is supposed to be fun.
This gentleman does this for a living from what if sounds like.
Appreciate it for what it is, but don't let it get you down.
I've added some color to the ships I'll be taking to a Store Championship this week. The YT-2400 I did quite a while ago, but I just did the A-Wing and the Y-Wing this week.
Engine glow
Astromech painted as R5-K6
Great detail work and engine glows.
The Y-Wing's engines actually look like they are glowing from that angle.
Good luck in the Tourney!

Many years ago there was a tv program called "You Asked For It". They had a Japanese artist that would engrave on the head of a pin. No magnifier. He didn't even look at what he was doing he just "knew" the position of his tool. Pretty amazing.
Awesome paint jobs!
I like this fleet!
Are you painting other models to fit with this theme?
Thank you. Might do another couple of Pirate Z.95's at some stage. The group above was painted for my nine year old daughter (who plays female characters in X-Wing). She had an excellent week with school on her first residential trip away from home. I promised her an X-Wing surprise if she had a good week. Needless to say she was pretty thrilled.

So not only are they very cool models, but they also have a warm and fuzzy story attached to them!
Very nice.
I really like that you put running lights on your Firespray!
and now the bomber's big fat ugly sister...
Ugly?
I guess beauty is intended in the eye of the beholder.
I like these two.
Just a dirty old decimator. At first I just washed the whole thing with black and was disappointed that it wouldn't stick to the original finish.
But..after it dried I was pleased with the variation it caused so I went with it and just detailed some nubbins and whatnot.
Looks decent for ten minutes and no effort.
If you hadn't of said anything, I would has thought that the look achieved took a lot of time to achieve.
I like it
Looks like Urban Camo... I rather like it.
