May be a bit redundant but completely relevant.

Lovely glorious blurry goodness. Maybe it's time I replace my camera. But that would require spending monnies on something that isn't little space ships.
Anyrate, pony squadron is quite small now, but growing.
I like the starfield reflected in the canopy, that's really impressive!
Here's a question: I know it's a thing where Imperial pilots with X kills are allowed to paint bloodstripes on their machines(10, I think?), and I've seen people do that when a given mini of theirs reaches that total. I'm planning to do something like that, as well as painting scorch marks and other battle damage for X number of games in which a unit is destroyed in battle, a kind of living paint scheme, as it were.
What do Rebel players do, if they do things like this? I've only seen bloodstripes on Imperial ships, does the Rebellion have something else?
I love the idea of keeping all of the repaints together in one thread!
Especially considering the lack of a painting section to the forum
I am new to the forum, and the game. But I am loving everything about it so far!
I thought that I would open up with my Rebels first. Here are my contributions to date:
First up is Luke Skywalker's X-Wing Red 5:
Then we have his good friend Biggs Darklighter in his X-Wing Red 3:
Then the obligatory group shot:
I have always leant more towards the light side in gaming, and although I appear to be the same in X-Wing (Just bought Rebel Aces, and have asked of the Millennium Falcon for my birthday), I am finding the call of the Dark Side particularly strong!!!
Tie fighters, INTERCEPTORS, Tie bombers!!! All such beautiful models.
My plan is to collect both Rebel and Imperial forces, that way I can have games with family and friends who don't have models... AND I get to buy all sorts of amazing models
Finaly I got something for you, a friend took some pictures of a few of my ships for me yesterday:
My first ever repaint, an HWK-290 in the colors of dagger squadron. I still am reasonably happy with it, although I certainly could have done things better.
Another HWK, this one is my first try at NMM gold. It was fun to paint, but my inexperience with the technique does show badly on some parts. I do still like her, though.
This one is just a quick engine glow and some more weathering on my YV-666. I am pretty happy with the engine, although it doesn't show too well on the table.

Edited by Admiral DeathrainI like the NMM one the best.
Doesn't really look like metal though.
You need to pick a single light source rather than having the reflections all over. The blending and colors are great though.
I can't wait to see more.
New TIE/D repaint. Almost complete.

Until I sort out a better way to take pictures, this will have to do.
I usually prefer to keep the original model design as is but redo them and fix the details. However every now and then I feel like dipping outside of the box.
Repainted carnor jax, brighter red, green tips of bone collored guns, more distinct canopy supports, odds and ends detail stuff.
T-70 I've been calling it "Hobgoblin". I just like green and orange with a Sandy main color.
Raider ,some variety to panel colors, some wear and tear, and a blast mark where the missing gun pod was supposed to be when I opened it
Some sort of scum and villainy faction thing. I've never seen it in play...but my friends assure me its from x wing miniatures game. I like all the butterfly colors people do on them and I really dig the deaths head moth from 'Silence of the lambs'.so, I went that route.
well gang, I've followed my love of FOs through to its natural conclusion

My favourite cargo ship, the YV-929 Gamorean Armed Merchantman.
Hello Spaceinvader
Basicly, I spray painted the model black, then a light over spray of grey primer. I then drybrushed a lighter grey for the panel high lights.
And used a very fine 0.05 fine liner "black graphic drawing pen" to go in-between and around the panels.
Ink washes on large models can look messy.
And I prefur the Imperial ships to look tidy.
I use the fine liner to draw Cockpit windows on all of the ship models as well.
Again for neatness.
It's that simple really.
All the best.
Barry.
Sorry for bumping this back up, but can you recommend a brand? I've already killed two quite nice ones from my local art supply place; they just dried out after maybe a third of a lambda's worth of lines each.

Ah, The YV-929... A personal favorite.
A real beauty, that one. Truly. But I think a little more armor and a little more firepower is in order. That, or a cannon slot.
That is a beautiful model!
Are we allowed to use "counts as" models in X-Wing?
Basically I am not a big fan of the K Wing, and it would be great to be able to take a different model in its stead.

Awesome stuff!!!
Adding a black wash to the Tie fighter cockpits would help to darken the red down, and bring them more in line with the original FO models.
You should repaint the Tie Interceptor to fit with the other FO models too.
I bet it would look really good black with white wing panels and blood stripes.

In casual play I'd be surprised if anyone was bothered. In tournaments, no.
Captain Lackwit, the ship already has a cannon slot as well as a missile slot. She's only 22m long,so it's not a big ship by any means, though her official armament is quite impressive:-twin turreted Ion cannon;two twin light turbo lasers;two triple mounted blasters and 4 concussion missile racks(2 forward/2 aft). The info on her states that she has very strong shields, though what that equates to is open to interpretation....I would hazard a guess at 6 shields maximum, but I'm not sure if the hull should be tougher than it is though.
Is there any chance of an official Gamorean being released?
It sounds pretty beefy.

Wow, I can barely tell the difference between the two. I mean sure, whiter panels and far more bright-red cockpits but
wow, that is super cool.

Hm, alright- yeah. You got it right then.
**** that thing is so cool. I looooooooooooooooooooooooove the YV-929.
Nice /fos!
Just a thought: Has anyone painted their FOs as regular TIEs, yet? I am really curious as to how that would look.
