Just a happy accident. I could never get so much variation in tones with that smooth a transition on purpose. The spots near the tips where the wash really just beaded up and did nothing work as ' dirt' or whatever to me so ....meh...called it good right there.

Try drawing them on lightly with a mechanical pencil, and then paint over it.

So, painted a couple of pieces up for a friend over the weekend... neither of these are as good as some other stuff featured here but both hand painted by brush. if you DO like my work though, happy to "commission" a couple and will work for models as payment,

A guy at the local store seemed to love flying a punisher with his TIE FOs, he didn't like how their coloration didn't match though. I whipped this up for the guy just cause I had free time and it sounded like a fun project.

Put some unmodified Imperial ships next to it here for some color comparisons.

Loving the mod. I've never been a big fan of FFG's version of the E-wing. All the reference material I found online showed a much longer and sleeker looking fighter, and you've definitely done it justice. Well done.

An alternative FO scheme.

What decals are coming?

The decals are going to be WWII Era pinups that are going on the wings. I'm going to put it up for trade or on ebay when finished. I'm toying with doing a full WWII inspired tie fleet. What do you think?
