What will I do with my 100 sets of 3 seconds each day now?

Dude, you are on the internet! Use it as god intended: porn and stealing music!

"3 Seconds of Porn" is going to be my new Indie band name.

So... you're placing subliminals in your music?

Back on topic, I'll see if I can find out tomorrow what UK supply dates will be.

Only if I can steal your music!

FYI

CSI changed their information for the F&D core book.

Pre-Order Notes:

Tempting. Very tempting. But I think I'm going to support my FLGS (Games & Stuff, Glen Burnie, Maryland) on this one.

If you go there to use their tables, that's great! Congratulations!

It's "What You're Supposed To Do." :D

DISCLAIMER

My post #28 was not intended to suggest that people buy from CSI. I was merely pointing out that their system's Expected Release information had changed to a specific date. I have no intention of getting into this topic again, as I think it's been thoroughly covered elsewhere. I wholeheartedly agree that if you do use the facilities that your FLGS provides, then you are returning the favor by purchasing your games from them.

Do not open the spoiler below! You have been warned!

If you open this, do so purely for informational purposes. If you feel you want to reply to my comments contained herein, please direct them to me with PM, please do not derail this thread. :)

However, I have my own table*, and most of my friends own a table as well. Some of us own several tables. One of us is really poor and does not own a table at all - he eats his dinner on a milk crate. He wishes his family was as well-to-do as Kenny from South Park. But he doesn't buy any gaming stuff either, he just uses ours when he comes over.

Since we own our own tables, we never play at the FLGS - there's no need. Heck, we've been gaming for over 30 years (RPGs, board games, CCGs, etc) and I never even knew you could go play at a game store until just last year. Still can't figure out why someone would want to, especially with the added burden of feeling like you should buy your stuff there, but to each their own!

* - Even though I actually bought a table of my own, I am not independently wealthy. I know, surprising, isn't it!. I have a budget for games and I like to get as much as I can for that money.

Well, this is VERY good news! I know what I'll be treating myself to. :D

Got my contributor copy today. It looks very slick, with amazing art (as all FFG products do). Very happy with how my section turned out!

Which section was that? (If you're allowed to say, that is.)

I had the intro and the entire Galactic Gazetteer chapter (10), which is a section Sterling Hershey has done in the past, I believe. Had a lot of fun giving an overview of the Star Wars galaxy, and trying to walk that line between giving players who ONLY bought the F&D CRB as their first FFG Star Wars game book the basic stuff they need, balanced against giving you hardcore fans who have bought all three enough new planets so the section didn't feel like all old news. I'm really happy with the end result, but I'll be curious to hear what you guys think, of course.

So how hard was it coming up with enough Force-centric planets to fill the Gazetteer? I can only think of a handful off the top of my head - and certainly not the 20 or 30 that we usually get in that section. Or did you go off topic and throw in non-force planets too?

You'll have to get the book and see! I'm sure others are better equipped to review the planet breakdown than I am, I'm a bit biased, you know.

I think his solution was to replace the Galactic Gazetteer with his Obi Wan fanfic, in which an aged, former Jedi Master wanders from bar to bar getting smashed, sampling the cuisine, and wondering what went wrong. Kinda like a more angsty Anthony Bourdain show, in space.

I'd be curious to hear what the fans think too.

So here's a thing.

I called my FLGS a minute ago to put in my order for the core book and the GM screen and they said that it's still "too far out for pre-orders". They told me to check back in two weeks! Does this sound like they're just ill informed?

You get that guy back on the phone right now, and you tell him this, "Listen, I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you're looking for a premium, I don't have the money. But what I do have is a very particular set of skills. Skills I've acquired over a very long career of gaming -- skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you pre-order my book now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you; I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you. I will find you..."

When I called mine, the guy on the phone said, "Isn't that a GenCon release?" And then he turned to another guy in the store and called out to him, "Isn't Force and Destiny a GenCon release?" Then he said to me, "No, we don't have it yet. Maybe next week."

Should I be that guy? The guy that calls every day asking?

As a GM? Not very useful. As a player? I would read the **** outta that section!

Why not? I usually That Guy - I just wait, based on previous results. until Thursday or Friday to start calling. And then every day like clockwork around 5 or 6, once the UPS guy is usually done with his rounds.

Amazon says 31 july. For what it is worth.

Hmmm. My godfather gave me a $100 savings bond in 1987. I think it's time I cashed that baby in!

No, I'm saving that for my personal memoir, "Angsty Anthony Bourdain in Space"

I just preordered my copies from Coolstuff. Will probably show up while I'm at Gencon (had it shipped to one of my players, since you know, didn't want it sitting on my front porch for days), Hopefully. Maybe. Also caught myself up on AoR releases while I was at it to get the free shipping :P

My FLGS does nothing but D20 and warhammer minis. Sad, really. So I also bought from Coolstuff. I didn't realize (read: bother to check) how far away they are. +1 week wait time for me.

I split my buys between my two local stores and Coolstuff. I'm also a huge board gamer, so I buy tons of stuff >_>

If you're going to GenCon, probably should have waited and picked it up there. You KNOW they'll have a fortress-like stack of it in their booth...

Plus you (probably) could have gotten it signed!
