Soontir has been everywhere at my local shop. So much so that I decided to make a list that specifically targets him. I have had decent luck with this list but it can still struggle:
Boba Fett w/ VI, EU, Tactician, Autoblaster Cannon 51 points
Kavil w/ VI, EU, Unhinged Astro, Autoblaster Turret 32 points
Black Sun Soldier w/ Dead Man's Switch 15 points
98 total
I have had great luck with Fett using the boost and PS10 to get into range 1 for the autoblaster. I know it is not a popular choice but given the prevalence of Interceptors it has been invaluable and capable of taking a TIE off the board in one attack. The Tactician seemed to go against my plan, but I can't guarantee I will always be in range 1 and the stress normally allows me to get into range 1 next turn.
The thought was that I could have a "mini-fett" with Kavil doing the same thing to get into range one. Sadly I'm always boosting and 3 unmodified dice aren't that impressive even if they sneak past green dice. The Z is just there for filler.
Every game I play Fett does very well other than we he gets blocked by swarms. Even then his ability kicks in and allows him to wreak havoc and become difficult to bring down. I feel very action inefficient since I am always boosting. If I give up the VI then I lose my ability to outmaneuver Fel. The K9 Security Droid crossed my mind but the target lock isn't that necessary with Fett's ability. Kavil, who has always done well for me without Fett, just doesn't seem to do the damage he needs to (although I could blame some of it on rolls). The Z just does Z-95 things, which is mostly die or sometimes end up where I don't want him to be.
Any help or suggestions would be great. I like Fett as he is or close to it, but I feel like his support is sorely lacking. Fett is half my list yet always has to do about 90% of the work. I'm thinking Kavil has to go since his damage has just been so low for his cost. I also leave the 2 points shy to allow my opponents to have initiative and move first for Kavil against PS9s.
