My players were flying a ship I named for them - The Lazy Bantha.
Oddly enough, our group's ship is named The Lazy Bantha. Here are the deck plans for it.

I have one group flying the Idiot's Array, my FaD group however don't yet have one.
How about: the "Vicious Tribble"?
Oops wrong universe......

That's awesome. Also, the Outrider is a great ship. My group ran a GHTROC (the Get Rock, coloquially).
Currently, my players are flying Sentinel Seven . I don't recall the name of their previous ship.
Hah. I loved " Sentinel 314 " which we recovered from the orbital debris field of a Star Destroyer in a interdicted system, fixed up with 6 successes in a few hours to chase after a kidnapped comrade. We only got to fly it for a few days until the GM realized how big and cool it was. The GM had a Hutt steal/hold it "for collateral" to make us finish a job. Hmmph. I miss that ship. It gave instant credibility to my super-good-fake-id as a "Lieutenant of Naval Intelligence."
We needed it 'cause our rusty " Ware Wolf " freighter had been shot down into a bog.
"Ware Wolf"... I like that name.
I'm loving these ship names. I may have to steal them at some point in the future. OggDude: You are spot on with Imperial Ship names. All you really need to do for Imperials if nothing pops to the top of your head is look up ancient weapons:
Cestus - Roman armored spiked/bladed gloves
Xiphos - Greek sword
Dabus - Arab mace
Toporok - Russian battle axe
Fauchard - European polearm
This method gives often unusual but cool names, especially if you look into different time periods and locations.
Another method is to use adjectives or other descriptors:
Dauntless
Relentless
Obliterator
Imperial Ships can have some really cool names that you might not want on a tramp freighter. Imperial Customs might question a YT-2400 named "Annihilator".
I tend not to use goofy names - they tend to set the wrong tone for the game for me. Our current ship is The Runaway (the owner is a runaway princess). Before that we've had the Vandor Eagle, the Tora-3, The Lowrider, and a couple of others I'm not thinking of at the moment (We've had a lot of ships).
(We've had a lot of ships).
My groups tend to not get too attached to ships in the FFG SWRPGs. They tend to gain and lose them much faster than I ever expect. Most of them seem to live out of a set of spacer's duffels more than any particular ship. Nothing wrong with that I guess, it's just a bit jarring compared to long ago campaigns (WEG and d20) when I was a player more often.
We're the reverse - I tend to get very attached to the ship. We've had a lot of ships just because we've had a LOT of campaigns over the years.
At a convention game, we named our ship "She's one of ours Sir"
Ha! That opens up some possibilities. Maybe one day I'll name a ship Aye Yemdom ...
"What's the name of their ship?"
" Aye Yemdom ."
"Clearly! Now what's the name of their ship?"

Aye Yemdom? Sorry, I don’t get the joke.
Aye Yemdom = "I am dumb." It's like naming a ship, "Asfinkter Sezwut."
Actually, I think I've got a winner there...

D’oh!
The Salacious Beaut was an MC-18 light freighter with a busty Kowakian monkey-lizard painted on the left side of the nose. She had bright red lipstick and was smoking a deathstick.
Ah, how I miss The Salacious Beaut .
My sister's group had a YT-1930 named "Crimson Clover" and my last group had a YT-1930 named "Lucky Number"
We're currently on a mission to retrieve our stolen Starlight class freighter, the Hollow Platitude. I once had a player get hired to repo an old YT called The Stanky Rancor.
The crew of the YT-2400 Borrowed Time (4th of her name; it was a very appropriate title) later went on to add the Stolen Minute (a preemptively-salvaged TIE Shuttle) to their hangar.
The crew of the Red Empress (a tricked out Sorusuub Yacht) eventually sold her and replaced her with the Black Rose , a Citadel-class freighter they'd stolen from an Imperial convoy. That particular group had finished an Exalted campaign just before I introduced them to Edge, hence the naming convention.
In all cases it was the players who came up with their names; since their ship is so important to them, I insist that they do the honor themselves.
My Jedi travels in a Citadel Class Light Freighter called the Saber Seven.
I have a Toydarian smuggler who use to fly a HWK called Red Bird but later upgraded to a Ghtroc 720 freighter called Red Shell.
Edited by WonderduckThe ship my crew flew was called "The Vexing Proposition"
My players named their ship The Rainbow Dash. I commissioned a painter to put rainbows on the x-wing miniatures YT-1300 accordingly.
Some of the NPC ships I've unveiling are a rebel blockade runner "Freedom's Purchase" an Imperial Interdictor "The Rook" and a Mon Calamari Star Cruiser used as a luxury cruise liner "The Corellian Runner"
I just watched a very emotional concert. To honour the members of that band, the next ship our party gets will be called "The Tragically Ship".
In our last game before the hiatus (while the GM moves across country, etc…), we took on a bunch of pirates and managed to destroy or capture their ships.
The prize of the bunch was a CR-90 that the pirates called “Points Predator”. We have re-named it to be “Mokksi’s Revenge”, after a former ship captain that they had killed who was a Besalisk NPC named “Mokksi”.
We’ve got a cool paint job planned for it, too.
The redshift raven (consular class cruiser retrofited with a havoc alloy, i.e. dark red alloy hull so it looks like the diplomatic corps ship in the Phantom menace so I could use the mini and artwork and because I could get a deck plan from colonial chrome)
