What's up with this card? Is it the developer's way of acknowledging that Lannister Kneel is too strong? Its too bad they feel a need to balance the environment with Magic Bullets like this and the new Varys. As a veteran player, I can say that Magic Bullets seldom make the environment more interesting and are no substitute for solid, balanced design.

Agree, they build 3 solid cards against Lannnisters and only for this...

Distraction, Lost Oasis, Drunken Allegations and Lannister's host of kneel. If your deck relies on a few characters standing to participate in a challenge you could do worse than including a couple of copies of this... especially in a melee deck where you are likely to see some kneeling effects. It isn't effectively different than including a couple of spot attachment control cards when you need to ensure that a character or two is not milked or netted.

Is the difference between attachment hate and kneel hate that one is thematic while the other is against a category of cards?

I'm thrilled to have access to this card. Its been pretty clear hwo strong kneel has become and every little built helps. How many slots (if any) you cna afford to allot to this will make for an interesting deck building problem.

How is the new Varys a magic bullet? Ally hate has always been part of the game.

I can see how varys is viewed as a magic bullet. he sits in shadows until an ally pops out. I doubt anyone would bring him out of shadows before an opponent has played an ally.

But he is also Nedly, sitting in Shadows powering up certain cards until it is time to step in and make a decisive action removing a threat to the Kingdom. If that is an example of a silver bullet, I applaud Nate.

While the event smacks of "magic bullet," Lannister isn't the only House that kneels. The bad thing about magic bullets is that if you don't meet an opponent using the specific target, it's a dead card. This card is less so (at least around here where City of Sin is becoming a popular plot card). It's certainly better against Lannister, but it's not useless against other Houses.

Maybe I'm telling something stupid...And it can really be...

But if we think abotu Varys as a "magic bullet" to create a serious opposition to the "strongest" decks, I guess that IT MAY BE that they designed it with CASTELLAN OF THE ROCK in mind. It's the MOST PLAYED LANNI CHAR (it's in almost any decklist I've seen so far) and it's the cornerstone of lots of decks.

Most of powerful (not DESTRUCTIVE, but still powerful) Lannister cards are Ally (Cerse'is attendant, Weaponsmith) and noone who reads the recent reports can negate that Lannister are the most played familiy.

That said...I guess these Kind of cards don't ruin the game in any way and it's pretty NORMAL to see a "bullet" from time to time, when the risk to find a T1 TOTAL DESTRUCTION deck is at the door (I've tested the Shadow Lanni once yet, so I'm not sure about it, but I can feel some inner unusual power...)

I'm not happy about Lanni hate (cause I'm actually a LANNISTER player), but rationally, I think it's fine.

EDIT: I'd add that Varys is a powerful card anyway.
