Empire options

By Semperatis, in X-Wing

I require some options here lads as to what I can do with the following ships. Please do not ask me to buy further ships,as that's a non-starter.

6xTIE; TIE Interceptor; Imperial Aces; TIE Phantom.

4 academies

1 stabber of backs

1 ptl soonts with hull & proxies thrusters

As long as you tell your opponent what youre proxying, you'll be fine for anything up sanctioned competitive events

Phantom + mini swarm of TIEs an't bad, if you are good at flying a Phantom. You could also go Fel + mini swarm as well.

Fel plus 2 other interceptors. The question becomes how the people you play with handle upgrades. Do you have to have them or can you proxy.

I have all the upgrades from the listed sets.

Try Soontir Fel, Whisper or Echo and two TIE fighters. A fun list that is pretty competitive, at least in my area. Personally, I don't much like proxying upgrades myself, but I'm super okay with those who proxy them against me.

Hows abouts...

Sigma Squadron Pilot (30) TIE Phantom (25), Intelligence Agent (1), Fire-Control System (2), Stygium Particle Accelerator (2)

Carnor Jax (34) TIE Interceptor (26), Push the Limit (3), Royal Guard TIE (0), Autothrusters (2), Stealth Device (3)

Academy Pilot (12) x 3

I've been having a bit of fun flying a sigma flanker of late, it's a pretty cheap option for what it can do... Its big problem is the timing and rhythm of cloak/decloak, as you can't have that same action economy as with the elites. Still, it's a hard ship to kill, and blocks like a swine. Lots of blocking here.

Only flown it twice myself (2/0), but, eh, it might be worth a try. :)

(Alternatively you can drop the FCS on the sigma, and the cloak on Carnor to run Howl, if that's your kind of thing...)

After looking at the rest of your ships listed in your Rebel post I think you could run this:

43 - Whisper + Veteran Instinct, FCS, Gunner, Advanced Cloaking Device

20 - Howlrunner + Swarm Tactics

12 - Academy Pilot

12 - Academy Pilot

12 - Academy Pilot

I couldn't tell if you had 3 Core games or 2 Core games with 1 X-wing and 2 Tie Fighter expansions, so you might have to swap Howlrunner for Mauler Mithel if yo don't have the TIE pack.

It's ok,I do have Howl.

You can also do an Interceptor Elites list:

99 points

Soontir Fel - Push the Limit, Hull & Shield Upgrade, RGP Title

Carnor Jax - Push the Limit, Hull & Shield Upgrade, RGP Title

Turr Phennir - Veteran Instincts

Here is my list for the given scenario:

Soontir - Squad Leader and Experimental Interface

Carnor - Opportunist

Kir Kanos

Black Squadron (or lower cost TIE to get initiative)

Use Soontir to get Carnor in close or get Kir a free Evade.

TIE All Stars:

Howlrunner, Hull Upgrade

Mauler

Backstabber

Dark Curse

Night Beast

Winged Gundark

A really fun list that I used last week was my Tie Swarm with Phantom escort.

Howlrunner w/determination - 19

Sigma Squad Pilot with - 29

Shield Upgrade

Obsidian Pilot x 4 - 52

- 100

Different than traditional Phantom plus mini swarm, this list really revolves around just jousting and flying in formation with the Phantom being just one of the ships in formation. The Phantom has the identical dial and PS of the ties(except Howl) so maneuvering in formation is relatively easy. The Phantom never cloaks, just flies around in the swarm getting Howl's reroll and having the same stats as an Xwing, except for attack which is 4 instead of 3, and a better dial. I really like this list.

Soontir Fel [Royal Guard TIE, Push the Limit, Hull Upgrade, Shield Upgrade] (37) Kir Kanos [Royal Guard TIE, Shield Upgrade, Hull Upgrade] (31) “Howlrunner” [squad Leader] (20)

Academy Pilot (12)

Keep Kir Close ot the furball to deny enemy abilites.

Fel is your arc dodger with the extra durability to survive mistakes

Howelrunner and academy TIE stick close in a formation to take advantage of Squad Leader. They fly around the outside of the furball to tag Targets of Opertunity while they are trying to kill off Kir and Fel.

Flown correctly with turrets as target priorities this squad will leave your opponent dead and confused as to how it happened.

Blood to your enemies, bring glory to the Baron!

I hope you have all these upgrades. I think you do.

Whisper with Gunner, Fire Control System, Advanced Cloaking Device, and Veteran Instincts

Howlrunner with Determination and Shield Upgrade

Black Squad Pilot with Draw Their Fire

Night Beast with Hull Upgrade

Whisper runs alone as a flanker because that is what she does.

Then you have a nice little mini swarm with the Black Squad being Howlrunner's bodyguard. Determination is an underrated upgrade that allows you to just discard crits. The Hull Upgrade on Night Beast is because I had 3 points and whatever.
