First Rebel Build

By Swusn, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hello all,

I really appreciate all the help I got on my earlier "Help Me Beat My Wife" thread. Your suggestions lead to me building a great list that let me totally dominate my wife in our weekly game of Armada. The problem is that we did so well that she has decided that she will now be playing that list and I will play Rebels.

I generally like to go second but it may be beneficial to choose to go first with the lighter Rebel Ships.

My Fleet:

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51)

-Mon Mothma (30)

-Redemption (8)
CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)

-Raymus Antilles (7)

-Overload Pulse (8)

-Tantive IV (3)
CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)
CR90 Corellian Corvette B (39)

Tycho Celchu (16)
A-wing Squadron (11)
Wedge Antilles X-wing Squadron (19)
Dutch'' Vander Y-wing Squadron (16)
X-wing Squadron(13)

Objectives

Most Wanted

Fire Lanes

Dangerous Territory

Total: 299

Her fleet will most likely include the following:

Victory II-class Star Destroyer(85)

Admiral Screed (26)

Admiral Chiraneau (10

Expanded Hangar Bay (5)
Gladiator II-class Star Destroyer(62)

Engine Techs (8)

Assault Concussion Missiles (7)

Demolisher (10)

Major Rhymer TIE Bomber Squadron (16)
TIE Bomber Squadron (9)
Mauler'' Mithel (15)
Darth Vader (21)
Soontir Fel (18)
TIE Fighter Squadron (8)

Objectives

Unknown

Total: 300

My intent is to use the fighters to tie up her Rhymer Ball or flat out kill Rhymer early in the game. The inclusion of the Vader/Soontir Fell combo on her side makes this difficult but not impossible.

As far as ships go I intend to take out her GSD as fast as possible while potentially loosing one of my ships in return. After that I will keep all of my ships at speed 3 or 4 and stay away from her VSD and try to acheive Objectives. Depending on the Objectives or the stat of my fleet and her fleet I may go for her VSD.

I would appreciate any suggestions on ship fitting or tactics that you believe would help me improve this fleet and win the match.

P.S. I own the following Packs.

1x Base Game

2x CR90 Expansions

1x GSD Expansion

1x of each fighter expansion

Thanks in advance guys and girls!

So I tried the list above and got smashed. I went against my instincts and tried to do a pincer attack at speed 2 on the VSD. The enemy GSD made short work out of two of my CR90s and both ships teamed up to take out my remaining ships.

We played a second match of dangerous territory. This time I got rid of all upgrades on my ships except Mon-Mothma and Redemption. I also traded the hero squadrons for 2 unnamed y-wings, 2 unnamed a-wings and 3 or 4 x-wings. My opponent set up her VSD in one corner I started putting my ships in the far corner and she placed her GSD directly across from my ships. This could not have been more perfect. I started my CR90s at speed four and my Neb-b at Speed 3. This allowed me to get past the GSD with moderate damage to both sides.

After passing the GSD I started to loop around the VSD. By round 5 I had come to within blue rang of the VSD with all 4 ships pointed squarly at its rear hullzone and most of my squadrons place around the VSD. I plinked away for round 5 and finished her off in the first shot of round 6.

In total I lost 1 x-wing and 1 A-wing while killing a VSD, Darth Vader and Soontir Fel. Two CR90's remain heavily damaged but should return to service soon :)

Have you considered using one of the other Neb titles, and upgrading the Neb to an Escort model?

Your squadron-heavy lists would benefit hugely from an Escort Yavaris with Antilles, allowing you to shoot twice with 3 squadrons. It might not fit with your go-fast playstyle, though - once engaged Yavaris will probably leave the fighters behind. You'll have to experiment and see.

Salvation could be fun too! Have you gotten much out of Redemption?

I will try those titles once I get the Neb-B expansion. (I have budgeted for and will be getting the Neb-b, AFII and VSD expansions next month)

I actually downgraded from the Neb-B escort on this list as I found squadron commands to be the least used with this fast list and generally sent them off on their own to try and get ahead of the VSD or tie up the opponents Rhymer ball. I also found that I was only in a position where it was best to use the anti-squadron abilities of the Neb-B escort for maybe one round each game. A slow paced Neb-B might find it more beneficial.

I didn't think Redemption would make a huge difference but it really does. Being able to remove damage cards on those CR90s proved very frustrating for my opponent and I probably would have lost all three had I not been able to repair in the two rounds between passing the GSD and coming up from behind the VSD.

I have been looking into a way to incorporate B-Wings as I find them very intriguing but they definitely do not fit with a hit and run fleet. I think when when I get the Neb-B expansion I will try dual Neb-b with Yvaris and

And...and....and!
