Yorr is my favorite shuttle pilot. With Rebel Captive out there, Yorr let's Soontir Fel attack with impunity, handing the stress off to the good Captain. I also ran Carnor Jax, and it's been my go-to squad for a while. Really strong against most lists, but I haven't beaten any version of Rear Admiral Chiraneau+Gunner+Vader yet, so until I can force myself to fly straight at it with all my firepower, I don't think it's going to be winning any awards.
Green grass for space cows
I really think that after Wave 7 hits, if people try to uses the new or even the old ordnance, the shuttle that requires you to target lock it if possible(Jendon maybe) will be a valid way to protect your other ships from the super bombers.
I honestly think that Jendon's R1 restriction is far too much. Your deployments are one dimensional. The shuttle gets out of position and is too expensive late game to be useless. Really, imo, the shuttles need a shuttle only crew: Admiral Chiraneau: 0pts - increase the range of your pilot ability by 1. Lambda only.
Opportunity cost is the name of the game here.
As a side note, I have found Captain Kagi + Sensor Jammer + Countermeasures to be a real pain in Epic play. He keeps your fighters safe on the approach. Countermeasures may also be a decent card to fend off swarms that try to shoot down the Emperor's shuttle once he hits the space lanes.
That's my secret tech too. Kagi adv sen deployed in the middle. Any sort of synergy shenanigans shut down. Any long range shots from the corvette go to kagi.
A shuttle won a store championship here in Atlanta.
The pilot that requires you to target lock him, equipped with sensor jammer and Carnor/soontir. This was pre-thrusters.
Carnor swoops around back, denies actions, then the shuttle neutered all my attacks.
And people told me that was a stupid, gimmicky idea when I pitched it...
