Cog o Two plastic movement dials.

By iPanterra, in X-Wing

These are obviously new. I really want them but have 2 questions.

1: Has any one got these yet and how do you find them... good or bad?

2: Is this going to cause a stir like the movement templates...?

as long as the moves are legal I don't see an issue

though I don't know what versions these are, some released that had all available moves on them as opposed to being ship specific, I would rather my opponent have the ship specific ones because if the dial moves to an incorrect template or yuo do a red because you forget you have acrit, it would hurt you and slow the game down in the long run.

I've seen pictures on facebook and they look very cool after being painted. I'm hoping the ones from the Greenman kickstarter will be just as cool when I get them.

They aren't legal for tournaments, but I can't imagine anyone having a problem with them in non-tournament play.

Comes unpainted.

In case anyone missed that. You have to color in the proper colors yourself, although they have notated on the dial what color each arrow is supposed to be.

Well yea, just like all their templates and tokens you have to paint them yourself, however, I personally don't think you should get a dial you do not originally own as you may make a mistake and put the wrong colour on the dial.

However if this is OK, then it should replace peoples worn dials.

Has anyone actually brought one?

They look cool, and I'm really glad they've only got the ship's specific moves as opposed to all of them. Still, wouldn't get one unless my original died in some horrible accident.

And I don't really wanna paint them myself...

Yea, if I'm gonna drop the money on custom dials they'd better come painted too. I'm getting too lazy for this ish.

Its not hard to paint, they have a plastic/paper cover and all u really need to do is blob a paint on the numbers with the correct number then pull the cover, presto done!

You could spend hours getting finer details but in the end after you pull the plastic protective cover the results are the same, although if you want to customize it then its a different story.

I have a lot of cog'o'two stuff I love it all.

If your worried about painting, it requires no skill at all.

Just slap on paint

Wait to dry

Peal off the protective film (this is probably the hardest step)

Scratch off any excess paint with a finger nail

Done

Use GW paints as, unlike every else they make, they are competitively priced and some of th best on the market.

Yea I have most of their stuff, thus why I was very interested in the dials, was kinda hoping that someone would have purchased one before so they can tell me how it is.

I will be getting some for the simple fact that it means I can save my official ones for tournaments, as most are aware if you player enough eventually the dials start to wear on the back (pretty sure if you watch the video of the 2014 worlds final Paul Heavers YT-1300 dial is actually white on the back as the red has all rubbed off from considerable usage)

also they look awesome!

So...is that the movement dial for the K-wing?

These look great! I'm going to buy a bunch before Disney gets in a C&D letter!

these look great but the cost of replacing all my dial is just too high.

Spray a bit of clear sealer, and use a small washer and you never have wear issues again! I've been using the same dials for 2.5 years and they look like brand new.

Yeah I play a lot and don't get how people's dials look so battered/worn lol None of mine have lost colour at all.

yeah those are cool looking.. but having to get 8 for Tie swarm would be expensive.. wonder if you can get a bulk discount..lol i also like that they are ship specific. I wouldn't buy ones that were not as i would constantly need a reference dial or sheet!!

The only components I have any issues with were ones that got water damaged.

No wear on dials. I guess some people might play like, every freaking day.

or they press down really really hard and then move them around a bunch to confuse "Dial hawks" lol

The early dials did tend to wear, then they started putting that film on them and it has made a big difference. a couple of my early dials are pretty worn, but the newer dials hold up better.

While I find them severely over-designed, I like that they come with the ship's native maneuvers, having to colour them yourself is not that much of an issue to me.

Still waiting for the Greenman KS sample dials to make up my mind if I really want to replace all my dials...

Seems like they have movement dials for all ships
