I mean, other than they are large ships and that they are going to be released 3Q this year - do we know anything else about the stats of the ships? Fleet point cost etc? I have been looking and I just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed something.
Do we know anything about the Imperial class destroyers yet?
No cost yet, just estimates at over 100 pts. Some stats and card revealed in the here they come article for wave 2 however.
Well, we saw a rest pick of the Imperial 1 and that had a 2 digit cost that looked to be a 92. We know it's fire power, and from the same picture we found it to be speed 3.
We actually know absolutely nothing about the Imperial 2 though. . .
Well remember that the Cards and Prices can change from this Spring's preview and release. Those were the prototype cards, not the final product. (I don't think they have been printed yet.)
And I was so going to say they were Large when I first read the Title. You so saw smart&%%es like me coming. ![]()

It was a prototype card, that is for sure. I do the expect the ISD to cost around 105 minimum.
Well it will be for the Empire only. Sorry Rebel Alliance fans!!!

meh, won't stop me from rounding out my fleets. I think 2 ISD's, 2 MC80's and 5 MC30's will be great!Well it will be for the Empire only. Sorry Rebel Alliance fans!!!
In a casual home game you are limited only by your imagination.

paint it red and it can be part of the scum faction

Only if you "Pinky Promise" to remove all but 1 Red Die from all facings...
I heard at my local said ISD 1 was 120 points basic, but profile was better than in the preview.
Take that with as much salt as necessary...
All the salt then.
Don't mind me, it is part of being a Navy Intelligence Imagery veteran. I use pictures and make information from them. So far all the pictures show what we all know
According to an FFG employee that I "interfaced" with, I'm pretty sure the ISD I will come out at 92 points.
Nothing was confirmed absolutely, but he (or she!) claimed that it wasn't unbalanced at that point level.
It makes sense that it is not. The ISD 1 is just a really big VSD with more hull weapons and shields. A 7 POI t difference though.. . . Hmmmm
Hmmm it is a VSD mixed with a Space whale. . . Same shields as the Whale, strong front arc but a WEAK side arc (same as the GSD front arc) same defense tokens as a VSD plus a contain and 3 hull. 1 more squadron value and likely 4 to 5 engineering.

92 points is probably better from a game building perspective as you can balance out your fleet with more ships...
Still, only 7 points more than a VII.... Do we still think it I going to be Speed 3?
I assume it will, but I didn't ask specifically. It was just a short casual chit chat at the FFG GC.
He said it just draws all of the fire - which of course isn't really a spoiler, large bases well practically be made out of laser magnets.
we know it's going to be awesome
92 points is very cheap sounding, though. Going to potentially force the VSD-2 out of business at that cost

Think about it, it has a huge front arc and going speed 3 means that arc Wil come into play yes but that gives your opponents an extra segment of speed that they don't need to have to bypass it.
more worried about squadron 4 and 3 hull + additional fore and aft shielding than speed
possibly on top of the utility of a bevy of upgrades, all for a mere 7 points at the base cost
it'd be concerning is all ![]()
now at 100 points, 15 points at the base cost, it'd seem like a more reasonable upgrade
While possible I don't think so. That large ship will likely run into many things. At speed 3 it actually may to fast for it self.we know it's going to be awesome

And we have no Idea what its yaw value is at speed three. What if it has a speed 3 yaw value of 0,0,0?

There has to be some disadvantage so it does not completely replace the role of VSD. It cannot do everything better and still only be at 92 points. As some have said the large base in itself is a bit of a disadvantage but I would like to see it be extremely difficult to maneuver at speed three and become slightly more maneuverable as it slows down. Maybe something like 0,0,0 at speed three, 0,1 at speed 2 and 1 at speed 1.
But FFG seems to know what they are doing and this is the first miniatures game I have ever been interested in so I could be completely crazy here.
the ideal weakness is that rough equivalent points of VSD would kick its ass in a straight dice fest; but an ISD would allow the ideal chasis to load upgrades onto to become the centerpiece of a fleet
we already know it's going to soak **** like no one's business between Advanced Projectors (has a defensive retrofit slot, going by the cards included) and then recovering up to 3 shields a turn
