Most forums I have been on, when a sub-forum gets deleted, all the threads in get displayed in the parent forum. All the files and identifying tags and such for those threads stay the same, they just get displayed one where else. So links to those threads still work fine.

That should make it easy for them to recreate that subforum.

I got your message regarding the Star Wars Painting and Conversions sub-forums. Due to an internal concern, we have removed all of our Painting and Conversion sub-forums. As you may have noticed, the threads from those sub-forums have been moved back to the main discussion forums for the game.

I doubt it. I did see a lot of 3D-printed fighters, but nothing crazy.

I feel like the sub-forum was just barely coming into a place where it would branch out from paint on the ships out to custom gaming mats, hand-made tuck boxes, scratch-built 3D pieces and custom cards.

Horrible decision, FFG.

I had only been surfing that subforum for a day or two. Really sad to see it go nonetheless.

As a form of protest, everyone should start a new thread with pictures of their repaints.

I felt a great disturbance in the threads. As if one subforum cried out in terror and was suddenly silenced.

There's nothing to take from that - other than some marketing suit is a dope. If there was content in the subforum they didn't like they could have created a rule, notified violators, and locked / removed the threads. Just removing a convenient grouping and still allowing the same content on the main thread is useless.

as the lone dissenter i like having it back here makes it easy to see whats going on rather than having to jump to a new forum. matter of fact i liked it back the way it was when EVERYTHING could be found under one banner. but its not really a big deal either way... what would be a BIG deal is to see the Raider as "now shipping" !!

I just hope they don't delete the Off Topic sub forum!

Nothing sells unnecessary ships like the desire to customize one more paint job.

I've never painted mine(happy with how they look out of the box), but there's been a couple simple mods I've done thanks to inspiration from others in that sub forum. Mods that required me to buy another ship I didn't otherwise need.

I think this may be my fault. Was discussing miniature painting with a co-worker,whom I've taught XWing to, and he asked if anyone painted XWing ships and I brought up the forums on his computer to show him repaints and they were GONE. They hadn't put the threads into the main forum yet, so it was just everything gone. Took him to Macross's page to show him some ships though.
