When is the "In Flight Report?" Is that the cool event where they announce the next Wave, etc?
It is Friday at 12pm - 1:30pm.

I hope this is wrong, I got a seat last year no problem by just showing up.

Yes, they usually spoil a lot of stuff there.
Geez, thanks for being so sympathetic everyone. It is about an experience, people. By virtue of these arguments, nobody should go to a concert, a ball game, a movie or an art museum. Just sit at home eating Cheetos and look at it on the internet. Heck, maybe I should just avoid the convention altogether. Surely any games will be for sale online eventually, and I can just play on vassal.
So many curse words.
They did issue tickets, 'cause I have some.
Seminars CAN have tickets for reserved seating, even if they cost $0. I know this because sitting in front of me at this very second, is a ticket for a seminar. The In-Flight Report is a seminar. Seminars don't cost tickets.
My memory distinctly recalls the event saying it was "generic ticket only" initially. I remember it striking me as weird, because generics cost money. Memories are malleable and fallible, though, so who knows.
So I hope it is just "whoever shows up". But it is weird that the event no longer states the "generic ticket" tag, and it also shows as sold out, when numerous other seminars do not. Either it is "whoever shows up" and paper tickets were not issued, or it is just like the numerous other seminars with paper tickets and it actually is sold out.
FFG, the company I am waaaaaaay more interested in than any other, has managed to botch every event of theirs I would attend in some fashion or another.
You know the whole thing is filmed and posted to Youtube right ?
Good call mate.
People are so lazy these days they forget what it's like to attend an event like this
Not being lazy. I cannot go to GenCon. if I could I would be playing games not sitting in a seminar I know I can watch later and get all the details on.
Shouldn't you have been paying closer attention to the event developments, maybe checking in more often?
The thing is, there is just really no reason typically to expect an event to flip like this. Sure, if it was the norm, I would agree with you. But the flip is unusual, and selling of reserved seats is (as I understand it) different from prior years, so there was really no warning or indication that it would change and maybe you should check it occasionally. Add in that there is no notification or subscription system to alert you of changes to the event in the Gen Con system, and total silence and no warning from FFG that things were changing and there you have it.
Fair points. I would take a mea culpa. I think you should be able to get a place still, based on what others are saying.
