Glitterstim and Action step

By GFulls, in X-Wing Rules Questions

If I am reading Glitterstim correctly. This upgrade allows you to make the choice at the start of the Combat phase.

The stress is given at that moment.

Does this mean you can still keep your Action for that turn? Or because you are stressed now you lose your action?

Glitterstim is awesome, if it allows you to keep your action.

Just curious how people interpret this.

You are reading it correctly. You declare an action at the end of the activation stage. You use glitterstim at the start of the combat stage.

Well it's not actually released yet, and the preview cards have been known to have the wording changed.

But unless it says you must skip your perform action step you don't do so. That doesn't mean you get to take an action though, if you have stress you can't perform an action, but you still have a perform action step.

But since it is played in the combat stage, you're already past the perform action step, so you wouldn't lose your action.

The only exception to this is from ships that gain a free action during the combat phase, like Turr Phennir.

I don't think the Scum have any of these pilots, so it's a fairly moot point.

Yet. So it might become less moot in future. ;)
