Yea unless you need multiples, I almost got an extra then realized the same thing

It's just the take on words and how you interpret things. Saying you'll have 4 WHEN the Raider drops indicates you have them immediately as it comes on. Saying you'll have 4 after the Raider drops would tell me you can count the one that comes with the Raider.
I have 2 preorders with MM. I wrote them and they added the Tie Advanced to one of my existing orders. That is a sweet deal to get an extra. It will bring my total to 4 when the Raider and this extra one arrive.
