Aggressive Enforcers

Squad title a pun on ship names, check.

Il keep the introduction short, I have wanted to try the starviper a long time, and have tried pairing one up with an aggressor, another ship I have wanted to try. But with a fully loaded guri there was always this point hole that I couldn't fill. So I came up with this:

IG-88B — Aggressor 36

Veteran Instincts 1

Advanced Sensors 3

"Mangler" Cannon 4

Autothrusters 2

Black Sun Enforcer — StarViper 25

B is kept cheap to make room for the two enforcers, but could still do some damage with his ability and mangler. The starvipers will roll around, blocking enemies and being (hopefully)hard to kill with thrusters. What do you think? If you have other fun starvipers builds, share them!

im wary of vipers. they are pretty fragile for the point cost. run it and let us know how it goes!

I've never actually considered pairing the star viper with the aggressor. I think you've got the best upgrades on that IG88B for the points available so I would go with it and see how it does.

Star Vipers can be hard to kill, especially if you alternate blocking (the most damaged one becomes the blocker) and concentrate fire with your other two ships----should work!

I like it too! It's very different from most other scum lists. I'm going to borrow it and give it a run when I get around to grabbing another starviper!

I've flown enforcers several times but rarely triggered AT because I used them as blockers and close-in fighters. The extra 4 points for the Aggressor would provide an HLC and dampeners. I haven't played competitively too much but I think this would help the list.

Thanks for the replies people, and sorry for not answering until now. Right now I'm away so I'm unable to test the list until I get back. Regarding the decision to remove autothrusters, I fear that the vipers are too fragile to last long without them. That's why a lot of people think the Viper is over costed by about two points, as running four of em without the thrusters is pretty suboptimal, they just can't survive the barrage a B-wing shrug off, especially when they cost three points more. Regardless of these facts I will try my best to give the viper a place within the semi-competitive meta.
