Does anyone else think it is strange that the ship the game is named for is almost never seen in competitive play? As a jouster it is no B-wing and it has no standard situational movement (movement after the dials are revealed like boost and barrel roll). Check youtube battle reports and you might see it, but don't blink.
Anyway (and this may have already been talked about, it certainly was in a theorists post on the team covenant website), what are your thoughts? Is the x-wing over valued for what it does? does it need to be fixed?
My house rule is a tittle card,
"Rouge Squadron - For X or A wings only. At the start of the combat phase, if this ship does not have a focus token, assign one focus token to the ship. 0pts"
I think it fits with the fluff because rouge squadron are the good guys and the battle is never going well until they try a little bit harder and then they win, yipeeee!!.
I think it works with the game mechanic because it allows rookies to make better use of torpedoes (TL and focus on the same turn), Biggs can use the agility droid and still focus (3 green no focus is not better than 2 green with focus). You could also take one of the situational movement upgrades for your X-wing named pilot and have him still get a focus when they do a boost or barrel roll.
Quite frankly, I am glad they didn't base the movies off the game (I do enjoy the game), or the good guys would never have won, well I guess they had the falcon and that is pretty kick ass ![]()
