Combo Championship Cassie

By Shaneth, in UFS Deck Building

Original deck came from Chubbs. He had a rough draft of this built for mini-block at Gencon and won a lot of starchips for Wandering Master. He then scrapped this deck to build Astrid, so the remnants of the deck came to me. Tweaking the deck from it's inception and slapping in new additions from Tekken, this deck has been very consistent around the Tapout meta. Really only loses to Astrid and Rashotep, but they are #1 and #2 on the tier list, so whachoo gonna doo?

Sideboard is kinda random. I never even use it.

Basic Cassie aggro w/ Temujin combo attax.
Revealing Dragon Lifter for all your attacks is sexy pahtay.

Zi Mei's Wheel Kick into Dragon Lifter. Early as turn 1.
Mark of the Beast, Midnight Launcher, Dragon's Flame is the main kill.

It's very very consistent. A major weakness with playing Cassie is the 20VIT. Throws are the worst enemy to face, and this meta is throw-dominated. You gotta hit 'em fast, which you will usually do.

I like it Shane. You must have had the day off work or something, lots of posts, and good content all around - especially like the history lesson and this deck.

I've seen this type of deck run before, Mike Lowe was playing around with one at Gencon.

I think you've made some necessary tweaks, I am kind of surprised that it goes with as many as 20 attacks, I'd think it could probably do with 16-18 granted she is a 7hs and you have it at 60 cards about, but I'm just being picky here. Note, I would simply take out 3-4 attacks and toss in 3-4 assets or actions, assets being Path, actions being anything that works.

The only thing I am surprised with is the lack of any Tekken attack incorporation into this deck. There are some good kicks, the boot and the other Paul combo attack come to mind, the latter lets you draw cards and pass future checks if dealing damage. Have you tried them in here yet? I think Hammer of the gods is also pretty synonomous with what this deck does (high block mods) and may be too much, but might be worth a try.

If you really want to get risky, and use cards people don't often use, I like Nightmares 2 check attack that combos off of stun for extra damage. It is a great turn 2 attack to use passing it on a 6 and dropping big damage on people.

Keep in mind that Lifter is a stun attack, and you can use Pauls stun stuff to combo with it quite well.

I agree though, a Dragon Flame with speed is just sick, and if you must keep it as your main kill, adding and tweaking around it is kind of hard.

Finally, perhaps you should try adding one more playset of +4 block mods? The card - Memories that Stain Its Armor is a very good defensive, and offensive card (kills standoff, and any other repeatable enhances). Maybe worth a try. Also, and especially if you insert Path, you should try Temujin's card - Trained Far and Wide. Another +4 block mod, and something that allows you to be King, play out 4 foundations and then an attack without progressive. With Path this is very sick.

I'm also kind of surprised to 'not' see any actions in this deck. A 7hs character kinds of screams to me, run actions! If you do try the Tekken attacks, in particular any with stun, I suggest you go to Toughest in the Universe, great card that can turn your 20 vitality into 24, or that can kill mid game when used as a stun-stun card.

Thank you for sharing it is a v nice build, don't have too much fun at your sexy parties!

Thank you sir. Yeah Chubbs played against Mike's Cassie with his Cassie and got like... 4 chips from him or something. The builds were rather similar, but Chubbs didn't run Dragon's Flame at the time. Wheel Kick and Dragon Lifter are given.

I really didn't look too much into the Tekken attacks. I figured that since the Wheel Kick -> Dragon Lifter combo and the Dragon's Flame Combo work really well, I didn't see any need to change it up. The only Tekken stuff I added were For the Money and Financial Distress, cause those cards are teh b0nk3rz.

I do indeed run some Stun attax, so I'll have to look into what Paul stuff is actually worth packing.

I originally had Path of the Master in the deck, but because all of my attacks only shared 1 symbol with Cassie, the card didn't play so well. It's most often use was to use the Evil ability on Communing with the Ancients and drawing a card for it.

I really didn't see any actions worth packing. Honestly, I've never even seen Toughest in the Universe.
