Not that I've seen, though I did try to fly 5x ABT HWK at one point.
how'd that work out?
I came up against 5x Thug + ABT in a tournament once, shortly after wave 6 was released. It's got plenty of hit points, and I can see how a Soontir or Corran player would have to be extra careful with their maneuvers. But I think it struggles to put out enough damage against high-HP targets. I was able to beat it with the janky Rebel control list I brought, though bad attack dice on his part contributed.

Yes, it's call the Wood Chipper. This list is very tough, 40 hull + shields is a lot to go through especially in the 2 ship meta. If you can own the middle of the board and swarm ships there isn't much that will last. You really want to take your time with this squad.
Is it better with BTL-A4, or worse, due to the severe range restriction?
Flown 4 Thug+Autoblaster Turret+ Unhinged and a Black Sun Soldier (PS3 Z) with Feedback Array before. Did pretty well with it, but it does have issues with Fat Han or other high HP lists with low agility. You can do pretty well but if your attack dice fails, then you probably will have a hard time killing it.

With the ABT you don't want to use the BTL-A4, you really want the bubble.
If you can fly 5 Y-wing's in close formation well enough then all you need to do is fly to your opponent and grind your HP against theirs.
Corner a fatty and its toast but catching high skill arc dodgers in that range 1 bubble will be a problem.
Against Arc dodgers you spread the net and trap them. They can only boost and barrel roll so far.

Yeah but once you spread out it can be hard to regroup, and dice have a bad habit of failing on that critical dice roll where you actually managed to get Wisper in your bubble
I'm a fan of the 4 auto-thugs with unhinged and then either engine, proximity mine, and soon connor net or cluster mine. The unhinged makes them fly so much scarier, and the bomb choices give them some surprising teeth at low ps.
