Bumble Bees

By lcopley98, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey guys - I have been toying around with this build for the past couple months and have had great success with it. I am just curious to see other thoughts on the build outside my local area - weaknesses, strengths, ideas to try, changes, etc. I had a few points remaining and added Jan Ors on one of the B-Wings just in case I got in a sticky situation that required one of the B-Wings to take an evade token.

Its not a bad idea, athough of course Jan's b-wing becomes the highest priority target for you opponent. FCS makes b's particularly good at killing turrets so it should be decent in a turret-heavy meta (which is probably common). It has the usual b-wing list weaknesses of course (low PS means susceptible to predator and easier to arc-dodge by higher PS opponents w/ BR/boost). But you can get around that somewhat with blocking.

Surprisingly, most don't see it as a viable threat. On rare occasions do my opponents try to take Jan Ors out first. Normally, I either fly my ships in a 22 formation or a 3-1 formation. If 3-1, Jan Ors is in the back. If 2-2, Jane Ors is in the back furthest away from enemy ships.

I have found that my most difficult matches are when I find myself 3 on 1 or 2 on 1 against BR and boost.

I really like flying Bs. Good health, strong attacks and pretty decent in a knife fight. Lately I've been using the top 3 aces. Numb with VI and Mangler, Keyan with VI and Ibtisam. All with FCS. Numb gets his uncancellable crit, Keyan and Ibby get rerolls and dice mods from stress.

As mentioned above Blues are vulnerable to Predator and if your opponent's dice are hot it'll put a hurt on you.

I feel their biggest threat comes from high PS arc dodgers. If your opponent is patient he can and will blindside the B. It wont be a one shot kill but more like chopping wood. Chip, chip, chip.
