"know when to pull out". . . . I died

Are there any ships in the pictures that have not been announcement ?

I hope it might lead to those ships being built.

Is that an E-wing on the left in the green?

If memory serves Cubanboy, and I'm not off-basis, that's an Assault Frigate Mk.I in the top picture, as for picture number 2... well, I actually love the picture, but there's a GR-75 in there, some indistinct thing in the "sun" (frigging lights, Empire still get the best home fixtures thoughy), and that coooould be an E wing, but I sorta doubt it. Its forward fuselage isn't quite as long as I recall and there's more mass around the mid-section rather than the rear. But it could just be tinypic plus green wireframe tricking me. I can't tell. Now as for the article...

Woooo! That was a lot more than I expected, and more I'm used too for game developers for that matter.

I feel like they won't do it, but the Assault Frigate mk 1 would be lovely in that styling.

That looks like a modified Nebulon B2 Frigate

This article would have been nice 2 months ago, when we were still discovering the game..

Some of us still are.

In the end, the victory doesn't always go to the player who destroyed the most ships and squadrons; it goes to the player who maintained focus on the larger goal and pursued them through maneuvering, battling, and the accumulation of objective tokens.

Erh, are they playing with the same rules? If a players has no ship left it's immediately over, no matter the victory points he scored (or if any fighters are left). Nice article, but more advertisement than helpful guide :-)

Armada is a great game, so far very well balanced!

Yeah, definitely a great introductory article. It was fun discovering the "Corvette" pull out maneuver the first time I played.

Good article for those new to the game methinks...

Thanks for the info

That quote doesn't say the player that destroyed everything, just they player that destroyed the most. The game might end before either side is totally eliminated either for 6 rounds completing or the 2.5 hr tournament time limit.

AF MK I spoiler?

Thought it was hilarious that the Imperial bidding list was 296 points.

296 seems kinda high

296 seems about right if everyone around you is taking 300 point fleets and just expecting to be first player. My regular opponent knows I am bidding to go second and as such he has just been building 300 point lists as to just hit me with everything and the kitchen sink.

What are your experiences on this?

Lots of people I play with are in the 297-300 range. However I got a bid around 292 or so.

Ok, time to be a lil serious. The article is great. It is a good interdiction to the game for someone curious about what things to consider and more so to newer players or players still getting their head around everything (because, let's be honest, tactically this game is HUGE).

I will say for those of us who have a decent grasp. . . Or at least listen to Intensify Forward Firepower, we could use some actual spoiler content!

It was an enjoyable read but I agree it was fairly elementary. For those who haven't gotten to play as much it should be enlightening.

My issue...or at least a curious point...is they expect bidding for first player since its strong. Yet the dialogue lately has been bidding to ensure second player with your objectives getting played.

Very curious point indeed. Just how good is second with objectives? Looks like a good place to spent time experimenting and discussing.

I LOVE going first. Being first player means the ball is in my court and I get to decide what is going to happen, because honestly, player 2 is always just reacting to what you are doing and trying to take that strength away from you. That's why they get the objectives.

Except after you have moved, he is like the first player to the rest of our ships. :D

I like that we can debate this topic until some place hot freezes over. If we ever had a concensus on going first it would mean it some how matters.

What they didn't show that had the Corvette gone first or second some one was in trouble.
