Cool Han Luke

By Rhoaran, in X-Wing Squad Lists

The second variation is to give VI to Han, and PL to Luke, if you want to be extra sure about initiative.

VI probably helps Luke more and is not a bad idea since PS9 is luke's worst matchup, but losing lone wolf....well its tough---either could work.

Yep. So at the end of the day, my list wins against aces (Phantoms especially), and maybe turrets, but I would probably lose against jousters like the BBBBZ list, for example. Clearly, my list is pretty common I discovered (but I love the Millennium Falcon as a miniature)

So, my friend and I are a little bit upset on where the metagame is at the moment. Is like a rock/paper/scissors situation, and it is pretty simple at the moment.

I also replaced Luke with the YT-2400 equipped with a Heavy Laser Cannon, and added Ion pulse missiles on the Millennium (extracheesy, I know). It is a pretty solid list, and keeping targets in the YT-2400 front arcs is pretty easy. If targets swarm around, you can always use YT-2400's primary weapon, which shoots at 360 degree, I suppose. So it is not that bad (3 dice at range 1), and you have 10 hit points instead of Luke's 5 hit points. So I believe that I could face a tie swarm. The problem is the B-wing swarm.

BBBBZ can still struggle against Han w/ Engine. It depends. B-wings can't move quickly so as long as you stay at range/out of arc, you can whittle them down until there's only a couple, and then it gets much easier for you.

My list I've played recently was:

Han, original not HotR

falcon title for evade, engine upgrade, hot shot co pilot expertise,

luke,

engine upgrade, targeting astromech, expertise..

99pt

multiple 100-0 wins with this list

Been thinking about trying this out. Here's my gang's-all-here list:

Luke Skywalker [R2-D2, Expertise, Vectored Thrusters] (38)

Han Solo [Expertise, C-3PO, Chewbacca, Millennium Falcon (Evade Version), Engine Upgrade] (62)

Personally, I like the classic Lone Wolf on Luke more than Expertise. With Expertise, you'll be able to barrel roll more freely, but you don't need focus for defense, and I don't really like the inflexibility of target locks. Lone Wolf isn't as good at pure offense, but it's much stronger defensively (reroll + soft focus is great). That said, it means you'll have to fly your list in a particular way.
