Stressing/Blocking Echo + RAC

By TaeSWXW, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've been playing around with a new way to fly Echo and I would love to get some opinions on the following list:

Echo (30) - 40 pt Total

- Intimidation (2)

- Mara Jade (3)

- Advanced Sensors (3)

- Stygium Particle Generator Accelerator(2)

Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46) - 60 pt Total

- Gunner (5)

- Rebel Captive (3)

- Ysanne Isard (4)

- Dauntless (2)

How to fly it:

Echo, decloaks on every round for extra movement, triggers SPG and gets an evade, then immediately recloaks (Advanced Sensors) which triggers SPG again and gets another evade then reveals her dial. With the two evades in her pocket Echo can then stay in range 1 of your target/s causing stress (Mara) and even blocking and reducing agility with Intimidation.

RAC flies in behind Echo, takes advantage of the stressed-out (and potentially blocked) opponent/s and drives home as many red dice as possible. Title for extra ramming fun and Rebel Captive and Ysanne to make targeting RAC less attractive and for extra longevity.

I dont think a list like this wants "ramming fun" on Chirp. All it does is stress you and, and allow you to do one of your two actions.

might I reccomend This

Stygium Particle Accelerator lets you perform a free Evade Action, and you can't perform the same action twice in a round.

Ahhh - I didn't know you couldn't do the same action twice in a round... guess I'm going to have to alter how I play with PTL then.

I suppose having one evade banked is still going to make Echo hard enough to hit.

Im new with phantoms as I have only recently been playing them myself but, when you say, "Echo de-cloaks ea round for extra movement" you have to be cloaked before you can de-cloak(obvious) and without Adv cloaking device you cant cloak after attack phase, unless you are planning to not attack with echo and just fly around the map and cloaking as an action ...

Also if you cloak as an action you cannot attack with the ship.

If he had VI on Echo instead of Intimidation, I would say that ACD would be a better option. But sticking with the base PS of 6, SPA and constantly cloaking unless lined up for a perfect shot, while trying to get in range of stealth, is probably a better choice.

Personally, I prefer to run the Phantoms as dodging death dealers, give the named ones VI and ACD to dish out some serious hurt.
