Playing against Chewie the other night, and want a clarification on his pilot ability. I understood it to only flip down face up damage cards you received from things like asteroid or a proton bomb. It doesn't apply to regular crits you receive from attacks does it?

Yes it does.
Any face-up card that you are dealt is flipped face-down.

The only times that he can receive face-up damage cards are when a face-down one is flipped face-up, like with Rexler Brath's ability, R2Dcrew, or Saboteur.
