I'm starting a new campaign in which the players are going to run a private investigation firm. I'm a bit unsure how much people should be paying for their services, however. Does anyone have any tips for this? I'm going to send them on different missions, but I guess I just need an approximate credit value for a simple mission, such as retrieving some stolen goods or exposing a cheating spouse. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Suitable reward for detective work?
Check out Far Horizons (page 93.)
A private eye has a daily salary between 75 and 200 credits.
For missions you could look up Dangerous Covenants (page 91.)
Ah, great, thanks! I didn't think any of the books had information on this. I'll check out Far Horizons and Dangerous Covenants as soon as I get home.
If you want to think a bit outside of the box, have their clients be poor, but offer them barter. Ten gross self-sealing stembolts could cause quite the interesting response when offered in payment.
Perhaps take a cue from She Hulk or Daredevil and have the clients ultimately be unable or unwilling to pay with credits and pay with something else instead.
Then the players can build a mantle full of items or they can seek to have them appraised and sell them, which can be an adventure on its own.

"I got us a job!"
"Great, how much does it pay?"
"...lots and lots of love!"
"Love? It pays love? What's the exchange rate of love to credits?"
"Well, in my experience--"
"..."
"Nevermind."
Cool suggestions, people! Thanks alot!
