Got a change to play my new Firespray/Phantom list on Vassal this evening against Theorist.

My list:

Kath - Mangler Cannon, Slave 1, Flechette Torps, EU, PTL, Tactician

Whisper - ACD, Rebel Captive, Sensor Jammer, VI

His List:

Dash - EU, Kyle, Outrider, HLC, PTL

Eaden - Mangler, Gunner

Deployment:

Turn 1:

Moved both ships 4, Kath boosted inward. Dash stressed himself and Eaden hard turned

Turn 2:

Whisper took 3 shields off Dash, who camped his focus in hopes of saving it for offence. Dash shot Whisper but everything was avoided or negated, he took a stress from RC. Kath shot Dash with her Mangler and put a crit on him. He rolled 2 evades and took another stress. Eaden took 1 shield off of Kath

Turn 3:

Whisper took 3 more shields off of Dash with a 5 dice shot. Dash dropped 1 stress with a green but Kath put it back on with Tactician and did a damage. Combined shooting from Dash and Eaden took off all of Kath's shields. Engine Upgrade on Kath was key here as it allowed me to get to range 2.

Turn 4:

A second round of 5 shots knocked Dash out of the sky. Eaden took a hull off of Kath. Eaden also clipped the debris and lost a shield.

Turn 5:

A nasty 4 dice shot from Eaden gets him a hit/hit/crit, Kath evades 1 but the crit is a direct hit. Whisper does 3 to Eaden. Kath scored crit/blank/crit thanks to the mangler on Eaden. He dodged both but got double stressed.

Turn 6:

Whisper did another 3 to Eaden (I'm catching a theme here) Kath evaded to be safe and did no damage, but reapplied the stress to Eaden. Eaden did no damage.

Turn 7:

Kath ran to be safe, Whisper took down Eaden.

It was a good game and I really like the control that this list brings to the table. I feel that Imperial control has yet to be explored outside of double tactician shuttles, and this is a shame seeing as we have some of the best 3 point stressers in the game. Now I will be fair and say that against action heavy builds this list should have won, and definitely had the advantage from the start, but in the current meta Dash is the only threat that can REALLY ruin your day if you don't bring a concrete answer for him...this list just has a whole lot of those answers I will be playing this list again for sure in the future, and may even bring it to a local tourney at the end of the month if I like how it performs.

Congrats on the win.

I'm too wrapped up in Scum atm, but Imperials are my fave faction. Nice to see Whisper getting 'table' time. My last game with her I teamed her up with a pair of royal guards and flew against a z-95 swarm. I foolishly traded the royals for only two z-95's, but Whisper managed to clean up the rest. So she's still a force to be reckoned with, 'nerf' or no.

I faced a similar list in my regional in the semifinals. My 97pts Han and Procket Jake was a bad matchup for this list. Kath had VI, Mangler, Rebel Captive, EU, Flechette, Ion Pulse and Whsiper had VI, Sensor Jammer, Recon Spec, ACD.

The Kath stress lists are really good against Brobots and any action dependent builds, especially when your PS is higher.

Interesting list, I'll have to give this a try sometime, as it's been awhile since I've flown either the Firespray or the Phantom.
