Well, almost free asteroids:) i saw the "battlefield in a box" and kind of thought i could pull off a poor man's 'roids for much cheaper. Baller on a budget lol.

Disclaimer: i'm no great modeler/artist/hobby man.

Used the asteroid shapes from the core set to outline the shapes. Cut using any ol garage knife. Spray painted. Just using xwing ship pegs and bases. Styrofoam is not ordinary. It was packing foam for a PC monitor. Might have used too dark a paint...totally unnofficial fun around the kitchen island

One thing that a lot of people have done is to use the original asteroid counters as bases, or at least put them under the terrain pieces. that way you still have the shapes for the ships to overlap.

They look good, though.

As a suggestion, take your knife to the upper and lower edges and round them out a bit.

If you use a small amount of spray paint it should melt and pit the outside, make them look more 'roid-ey.
