Size comparison help, please

By IG-58, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

Guys, I'm sure this has been hit on before, but I don't frequent the Boards and am trying to help out a fellow hobbyist on Starship Modeler:

How in general do the physical sizes of the Imperial Assault minis stack up to the old Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures figures?

Thanks in advance.

The sizes are close enough that you can't tell the difference. I have added a few of them to my IA set and it's a nice addition. There is a difference in quality though. The IA figures are a nice hard plastic mold while the old mini's are soft rubbery material. But they do come painted, which will make you want to paint your IA figures if you haven't. But the size difference is barely noticeable. My wife wouldn't notice they were from different games.

In THIS case, that's actually too bad... the guy's looking for 1/48th scale to go with a kit(s).

Well, maybe later I'll add some rebel scum and stormtroopers to my collection....

Hard plastic is good, though.

Thanks!

I added a couple WOTC minis to my game, Battle Slave Leia and white outfit scratched Padme. All painted up they almost look like they go with it, but there's a much better quality to the SWIA minis. I bought those two to use as prisoners/etc.
