My current funding scheeme works like this.

Work sends me on a training course. I submit milleage at $0.58 a mile. They send me a check which I cash without my wife knowing and buy Armada stuff.

So how far do I need to drive to buy one of each for the next wave as i have to do it at the LGS for cash else I have to explain the statement or boxes at my door. I have 120 miles to submit still, and no other trips on horizons.

Man I sure do miss me some TDY money!

I think with large ships more people will be using more of the table

For me, the Mon Cal replaced the Space Guppy before Wave 1 even shipped.

I get it but really nothing is replacing anything. My list building will still have all the ships I have now and work from there

I felt a great disturbance in the Force..as if millions of wallets suddenly cried out in terror..and were suddenly silenced.

Does anyone else get the feeling FFG might have played it smart this time and made the models and the bases of the ships since they announced them? Oh the cards are likely different and all my predictions are likely out the window for the most part but I think FFG may have set this up so all that have to do is print cards. . .

This concept of ships "replacing" ships feels wrong to me. I think it is a tactical oversight where people always want bigger better looking things.

I get it but really nothing is replacing anything. My list building will still have all the ships I have now and work from there

In my case it will replace the AF2 simply because i dislike the look and choice of the AF2. I would have vastly preferred FFG to go for the Mk1....and in fact once my Shapeways orders are in i will be using exclusively AF1 models.

Aesthetically I hate the tail portion of the space whale which is why mine as been flipped (each one will be that way). Other than that I like the ship. It is unique and I love the vast about of names it has!

Just remember that any person you play against will have to be fine with that change. Any tournament over local likely won't allow it. In fact if even a local tournament follows the rules then they should not allow it but meh it happens.

Oh yes, i know. My only tournaments are our FLGS ones, and everyone there is 100% happy with it, including TO's. So i'm good

me and my bud already have our pre orders placed. I buy the reb stuff, he buys the imp stuff

i ordered 3 mon cals, 4 mc30 and 2 heros and villians

he ordered 3 ISD, 2 raiders, and 2 heros and villians

i made my mind up when i saw that there were 3 name cards for each large ship, and i forsee the mc30 being a rebel gladiator (which his usually do a lot of damage quickly)

cant wait till they come though. Here comes the 1500 point games !!!!! (Now that's a real armada!! - Spanish/Portuguese armadas consisted of 20 ships)

I'll only be getting 1 Heroes and Villains myself, but definitely want at least 2 of each large ship. Will likely just get 1 each initially though.
