NDS Fantasy

I like it, very simple but effective. I like the Channelling over multiple rounds rule. If you've seen the Warhammer 3rd edition rules, it's somewhat similar, but this is simpler.

I'm not sure why the need to separate the types of power though.

Well my original idea was that a character can only have one Power Rating, I have removed that restriction for now. The other thing was that I didn't want a character to use the same rating for arcane and divine spells, the power comes from different sources. The power to control the arcane energies is not the same as the power granted by divine entities.

Oh and Corruption will have different effect on the caster whether he is a arcane, divine or nature caster. I am working on the rules for corruption at the moment

And yes I have been looking at Warhammer 3rd for some of my ideas, the rules for Pets was inspired by it and the channelling mechanic as you mentioned. The corruption rules will also be inspired by warhammer.

We also spent a lot of time on Corruption, which is (we felt) one of the best ways to reign in magic, or at least deliver consequences for its use... I don't know which way you're going with it, but we ultimately ended up siding with FFG and leaving most of the effects up to the narrative of the GM, as opposed to hard and fast numbers and lists of consequences. We did feel that escalating difficulties of controlling the magic was appropriate though... gotta get that slippery slope in there somehow...

Looking forward to seeing how it comes out for you...

And so my Corruption mechanic has been added. This is the general rules for corruption, I still have some ideas not fully developed on how corruption affects spellcasters.

Some optional rules has been added to corruption.

The Shadow and Treasure Hunter from the Rogue career has been added.

I am liking what I have seen so far, I may have to adopt some of these ideas for an idea I had for a game. My idea was a fantasy game where the players were all Demigods thrown down by the Overgod for indiscretions/refusing his orders. They must work to regain his favour and discover where the shards of their power have been seeded throughout the mortal realm.

The Bard has been added.

The Battle Brother and Captain from the Knight career has been added, the Paladin is next in line.

Suggestion 2.

You should put a link to your files in your sig. block, so we can have easy access to all your stuff. Because I am too lazy to keep going back to the first page. Come on man, clicking little numbers on the bottom of the page is hard work!!! :P

As always, your stuff looks awesome...except for the signature block part here... ;)

As requested i now have the link to my files in my signature. I'm a novice when it comes to online forums, at least posting on them :-)

Hands down, this is great work. I agree that you could do away with the added complication of the weapon specialisation system. Its something I think is a bit silly even in D&D/Pathfinder. Gandalf used a long sword like the best of them :)

Regarding the armor and weapon proficiency system, I have not included it in the Talent trees so its very easy to remove if one does not like it :-)

I will keep it in for now, when I'm finished with all the specialization and spell trees then I will come back and look at it again.

I really like this. I'm dying to see your races and spells though!

Fantastic work!

I stumbled on this post while looking for additional ideas for my own EotE to Fantasy conversion. This has most of the ideas I originally had but struggled to make into an actual system. I very much look forward to seeing what else you come up with.

I do plan to finish my work on NDS Fantasy, but since after the end of my summer vacation I have not had the time. I have not abandoned my work though :-)

I am working on my own NDS Fanatsy hack. I will look through this and see what I can steal . . . I mean use.

At last the Knight: Paladin has been added.

The Wizard: Battlemage has been added.

Again...

More, more. We want more

:D

Great Work man, continue with the excellent work.

The Cleric: Faith Healer and Cleric: Minister has been added. Changes to the Metamagic Tree + small changes and corrections all over.

The Druid: Shapechanger and the Shapechange Power has been added.

This looks awesome... I will check it out this weekend.

Actually, I just read through Magic and it looks like we have simular concepts on how some things would work. I guess this is pretty obviuous with Willpower and concentration, etc and how it is used in other games.

In my conversion I am experimenting with ideas that remove the "Force Rating" concept. Like yours, I had the idea for a "Power Rating" but I want something a bit simpler. I am working on a generic Talent system where you plugin Talents... so I am leaning toward making access to magic a couple of talents... Like Normal, Improved, Suprememe.

This is some great work. My players and I have talked on and off of doing something Fantasy again, we were thinking on trying new 5e. Maybe we will do this instead.

The Cleric: Chaplain has been added.
