Flipper and the Death Orca

By TylerMK, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Finally got my hands on the Rebel Death Orca of Doom, aka the Space Whale, aka the Space Guppy, aka the Deathwhale, aka the Doomwhale, aka Free Deathy, aka the Assault Frigate Mark 2. Played one game with it against a relatively new Imperial player and got a win.

I wonder if having the Doomwhale equipped as both a carrier and a combat ship is maybe a waste of points. Too many eggs in the one basket, perhaps. In practice, I spent most of the game concentrating fire or repairing, and only used a squadron command once. Gallant Haven never got used at all.
Any thoughts, ideas, or comments on the mating patterns of aquatic mammals as they pertain to Armada?

It's a nice build, definitely a lot of fighters, but I always feel off with only two ships for Rebels. If you're facing a fast moving missle-boat Glad build (and isn't every Imp list doing it right now?) then it will outclass your Frig, to say nothing of the pure annihilation it will wreak on the Vette. After that, the VSD and the Glad will dispatch the Frig and the fighters at their liesure. I guess I've just been really gun shy. It doesn't help that the crazy amounts of Imperial fighter synergy (stupid, crazy, filthy amounts) just utterly wreck my fighter screen, GH or not. By having a trio of cheaper ships, I've found myself more able to focus fire from multiple locations, burn down one big points sink enemy ship, then disengage to conserve points.

Any thoughts on changing the Corvette to a B, and adding in overload pulse? That in combo with your bombers / guppy will put a hurting on any ship.

hey guys, i build my orka around two flippy cr90; any suggestions for improvements are highly recommended.
