Fourth wave of figure packs announced

By Muz333, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I'm curious, what do you think about the Villainy/Ally packs in terms of Campaign value?
My problem is that I just need to get everything.

Lets take General Weiss, he seems to be pretty poor value for campaign.

The unit itself isn't that great and the Agenda decks seems pretty weak as well.

Not complaining, it's not needed to play the campaign, but still interested in your opinions.

The value is probably pretty low but I'm one for getting everything too. However, with Sorastro introducing me to painting I get more value through that.

Ally packs: do the rebels in your campaign ever bring allies?

Villian packs: wait till they show the agenda cards, but something like General Weiss and Bantha Rider I'd skip due to their restrictions. You can't play Bantha Rider on non-desert planets and it can only be used indoors. Plus, the bigger figures are more expensive.

I'll probably buy the Smugger and Hired guns myself.

The villian packs are good if you think you would actually use the villian in an open group. Tho the Royal Guard Champion is probably the one of right now that I would (the set is good too). Weiss is too hard to use and IG-88 competes with elite royal guards.

As for ally packs, the ones that give grey quests are probably best value (Chewie and Han). None of the existing green quests are must have imo, but if there is an ally that you think you would legitimately take to a mission, then it is a good pick.

The bantha rider looks really good. I think in skirmish it might be most valuable as a blocker. It's big, blocks line of sight, really slows enemy movement, has a ton of health, wastes any "Pierce" abilities attackers have, but can still get into position fairly quickly thanks to speed 5. Blue/red is an interesting attack pool -- good damage with inconsistent accuracy except at ranges 1-2.

Also, I really like the smuggler figure as an RPG miniature. I just really need to get to work painting.

I think the bantha will be a game winner in skirmish.

Park that sucker in the server room and any enemy figures in the same room will get a trampling.

Elite Alliance Smuggler

4 Cost Smuggler

Surge abilities: Stun, Focus, Pierce 2, +3 Accuracy

Ability 1:

Perform an interact, then move up to 3 spaces

Ability 2:

While defending, apply -1 (2) Accuracy to the attack results. After an attack targeting you resolves, gain 2 (3) movement points.

5 HP

5 Speed

1 White def

Green/Yellow Range Attack

I think it's:

Ability 1: Improved Smuggler's Instincts

Ability 2: Slippery

While defending, apply -3 Accuracy to the attack results. After an attack targeting you resolves, gain 2 movement points.

Elite Bantha Rider

9 Cost Creature Brawler

Massive

Surge: Pierce 2(3), +2(3) Accuracy, Habitat: Desert

Ability 1:

Choose up to 3(2) adjacent hostile figures and roll 1 red die. Each of those figures suffers damage equal to the damage results.

Stampede:

When you end your movement in spaces that contain other figures, each hostile figures in those spaces suffer 1 damage. (Really guessing here)

21 HP (!)

5 Speed

0 Def

Blue/Red Range attack

Ability 1: Trample

I'm wondering how useful the Elite Smuggler will be in campaign mode.

With usual allies you have to unlock the Standard Ally twice before you can unlock the Elite (meaning you can't get Elite Rebel Troopers if you don't take Gideon) so unless there is a mission that unlocks him in the Twin Shadows campaign I don't see us campaigners seeing much use of him, which is a shame coz he looks cool and his abilities would really help the Rebel Scum I face on a regular basis.

Elite Bantha Rider

9 Cost Creature Brawler

Massive

Surge: Pierce 2(3), +2(3) Accuracy, Habitat: Desert

Ability 1:

Choose up to 3(2) adjacent hostile figures and roll 1 red die. Each of those figures suffers damage equal to the damage results.

Stampede:

21 HP (!)

0 Def

Blue/Red Range attack

Reward card:

Tusken Weaponry

(??'Mon CALAMARI only'??) (ok, so that's probably not right...)

Action 1: Perform a Melee attack rolling 1 red and 1 green die. Apply +1 damage to the attack result. You cannot use (?abilities?) during this attack.

Action 2: Perform a Ranged attack rolling 1 red and 1 blue die. You cannot use (?abilities?) during this attack.

[Edit] Not bad for what seems to be a 1 influence reward; assuming it isn't really restricted to fish-heads.

I would guess that's "Non CREATURE Only".

Well that certainly makes more sense! Couldn't figure out what three letter word would precede creature, or why it was for creatures at all. Seems pretty obvious now :)

Is it me or is that Bantha not to scale? The Tusken on top of it looks smaller than other miniatures.

I can't tell what size the Tusken is, I just hope for painting purposes he is not glued on.

I wish the Alliance Smuggler came with an option to make it a Hero Replacement. I like the female smuggler, but sometime you wanna be Han Solo, you know? With out being Han Solo...

Wouldn't surprise me if the bantha isn't to scale. General Wiess is a fair amount smaller than the other figures.

...awesome....will a dewback be coming???!

wunderbar!

I dearly hope so. I would buy out a herd of them in a heartbeat- assuming they do a better job that WOTC did with their eating-its-own-tail Dewback...
